OK so what is the difference between the PIW tags and the silver state tag? Maybe IM reading wrong but it seems the PIW tag is pretty much a Governors tag but you have to adhere to the season dates rather than just august to december anytime you want? Or am I way off?

Its close. Silver State you also can shoot a rifle that whole time. PIW you have to use the specific weapon that is open in the area you are hunting in. Archery muzzy etc. say its elk and rifle tag is open in area 16 but archery is over in 111. If you are hunting 111 you gotta use archery. In 16 you are greenlight for rifle since its open. Silver State is more like a true heritage (governor) tag.

Thank you... also I guess PIW there are more tags and a NR pool as well.. i finally was able to dig up draw odds etc.

Also the only way to get in on the PIW is to strike out in the main draw on all choices for the species. Silver state is its own draw

There are 4 tyoes of specialtly tags in NV.

Piw has existed as part of the normal draw. If you get that tag you can until every season in the state for that species.

Then there was the Heritage tag, or the governor tags. They get auctioned off.

Then it broke off some a few years ago, and there are two more that are based on the two.

Silver state tag is the governor's tag, but is done in the draw. One entry, and the money goes to the same account.

The dream tag is the PIW tag, but is administered by another entity and is for habit improvement. I haven't messed with that tag at all over the years.
