Good point. Such as any legal weapon or muzzleloader or archery. Another part of the equation would be a resident or nonresident

To the OP - you bought a NV hunting license (in order to apply in the draw) and all you put in for was deer and antelope? Shoot for the moon buddy!

Yep, unfortunately I don't have a lot of vacation time with my job except in the summer when no hunts are on. I'm a school teacher and I have weekends and I get 4 personal leave days a year. I try to combine the 4 days with a weekend so I can have 6 days to hunt in a row, my passion is mule deer and hope to have one great mule deer hunt a year. I also apply for Colorado, Wyoming and of course my home state Utah. All this takes a lot of money every year so I choose to basically try and draw a deer tag. Your right I probably should be getting bonus pts in Nevada for other species because I buy a license every year but what can I say I don't. Maybe I will start

Your right
>I probably should be getting
>bonus pts in Nevada for
>other species because I buy
>a license every year but
>what can I say I
>don't. Maybe I will start

Just in case you decide to purchase bonus points for other species, you have until 11:00 PM Pacific tomorrow night (May 6th).

>That's just too much info to
>give out?

Yeah next year I'm going to apply for all the units a school teacher from Utah puts in for,I never knew of all those units till now!

Your welcome 6x7 make sure you get ahold of me when you draw one of those units I will point you in the right direction.

LOL...

One likes to think they have clue where to hunt, but you are right, who would care about my silly choices.

I personally agonize over my apps and what units to put into, and because I check out units that other's apply too in case I am overlooking something I worry (unnecessarily) that maybe I'll clue someone into places I like to hunt.

Checking out other's unit choices doesn't mean I am going to copy everyone's app choices, but when I see everyone putting into unit 61 or 81, then maybe I'll wonder why and check it out.

Don't worry I didn't put into your favorite secret spot, but I put into someone's and when I show up they may wonder how I found it. LOL

OK, shareseeze, I put into unit 81 late season, with 6 deer points. Will I get it? Probably not, its my 5th choice.
hahahaha

Good luck people.
Stay thirsty!

LAST EDITED ON May-07-19 AT 03:43PM (MST)[p]Myself I care less about all the popular spots I just want to hunt so I put in 1 hard to draw then 4 easier units,it works out about every 3-4 years for a tag for deer

4 out of 5 are easier to draw and you still only draw every few years? How does one afford to hunt as a Nevada resident?

My method is 3 hard to draw units, then 2 easier. Maybe easier because of weapon, or quality.

And I agree. Maximize your dollars and apply for everything.

My method is to apply before the quotas are published only to have all of my choices take a hit to the available tag numbers. My method is pretty damn consistent.

So Rich, then there won't be as many people on your hunts? I like your thinking. Never looked at it this way. Lol. Good luck to you in the draw regardless. That can be frustrating.
