I drew the muzzy tag in this unit. I have never hunted Nevada, and I know this area has low deer density. If anyone has any info on the units it would be greatly. I plan on doing at least 6 days of scouting. I also have experience hunting Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado. I am willing to trade info if anyone is interested. Thanks.

Pete

You could probably find some deer in the Eugene mountains. Otherwise you will be looking for a needle in a haystack.
Best of luck to you.

If Hunting and Angling Ended
There is no alternative funding system
in place to replace the potential lost
funds for conservation. If hunting and
angling end, funding for wildlife
conservation, including enforcement of
all wildlife laws, will be jeopardized.
Hunters, anglers and shooters actively
support wildlife conservation through
tangible actions such as buying licenses
and paying taxes on hunting, fishing and
shooting equipment. Why are hunters and
anglers so willing to support
conservation through their pocketbooks?
Because people place added value on ?
and are willing to pay for ? what they
can use.

In you are in good shape, I would concentrate on 7 Troughs.

Eugene?s hold some good bucks. The NW side has alfalfa fields on the flats, the junipers above that should hold the deer using them.

I just remembered, the Eugene?s burnt since I last hunted it so I don't know if those junipers are still there. I would still check out those alfalfa fields before the season to see if they are holding bucks.

The top of the Selinites hold deer, but it's a hump up there.

Hey, it's a Nevada buck tag, anything can happen.

Congratulations on the tag and good luck.

Thanks for info! I consider myself to be in good shape just never hunted nevada so I'm trying to get am idea of where to focus my scouting effort.

Thanks for all the help guys. I hunted for a few days, in the backcountry and managed to take this buck on the 5th day of the hunt. There was another older buck I spotted opening day but I couldn't turn him up the rest of the hunt.

Congratulations on the well-earned buck! Even though it has cooled down a bit, I imagine they are still high up in elevation?
