Deer tags 131 Yipee!

Me and the tribe finally drew deer tags again after a 4 yr dry spell Unit 131 132 early. We did not get any of the combination cow elk tags but we ain't complaining!We know this area well on the North end having camped and hunted there in 2016 when I got my bull.Cant wait to go!

It was pretty ruff last year I hunted with family from archery to early rifle last year. Archery was amazing black powder was less than favorable and early rifle was scarce. Hopefully it rains this summer and keeps them in the north. Good luck my uncle and cousin got the black powder deer and cow tags this year. Pm if you need some help.

Thanks Salberry! I have to say that when we were there in 2016 for the early rifle elk hunt it was very warm for the first week of November and the hunt was a big blank for the first 5 days. We covered a lot of territory on the North side and focused on the spot where my nephew got his bull in 2013 but came up with zip.No bulls no cow and no deer except in the alfalfa fields at the ranches. We thought this was odd since the rut should have already started.
On the 6th day we finally spotted a couple of bulls and on the 7th day I sealed the deal and bagged a 6x6.Just when I got my bull we saw a gnarly 3x4 buck chasing a small group of does nearby.Maybe this year will check out the south side a bit too.Should be a great hunt!
