Hey everyone!

New hunter hear hoping to get some advice.

I will be heading out to unit 108 from October 4th-13th with a party of two others to get some meat for the freezer. All 3 of us have tags for antlered mule deer. Any suggestions on good spots to go in 108 or any general advice? We are going to head out and scout the last weekend of August to get a lay of the land and hopefully spot some deer.

We have 4x4 vehicle and use it as much as possible and are all capable of hiking. This area didn't seem as steep so im hoping the truck can get us near the spots we are looking for. High hopes im sure :)

Appreciate any info I can get!

Thanks

Find what little water there is in that unit and there will be deer. Not a great deer population in there.

If Hunting and Angling Ended
There is no alternative funding system
in place to replace the potential lost
funds for conservation. If hunting and
angling end, funding for wildlife
conservation, including enforcement of
all wildlife laws, will be jeopardized.
Hunters, anglers and shooters actively
support wildlife conservation through
tangible actions such as buying licenses
and paying taxes on hunting, fishing and
shooting equipment. Why are hunters and
anglers so willing to support
conservation through their pocketbooks?
Because people place added value on ?
and are willing to pay for ? what they
can use.

If you have the Ruby's 101-108 then I would hunt 101/102/103. Way more deer. Is there a place in 108 that you know? If so hunt it. If not go further north. 102 has the most deer but very steep and hard hunting. The Ruby's are a tuff hunt if not in shape. Good luck.

I'd hunt higher elevations and work down until you find the deer.

Cancer doesn't discriminate...don't take your good health for granted because it can be gone in a heartbeat. Please go back and read the last line. This time really understand what it says.

Thanks everyone for the information I appreciate the feedback!

1. Go high and work our way down from higher elevation to low.
2. Look for signs of water and scout those areas.
3. Keep fingers crossed

:)
