Elko area bunny hunting

Does anyone on here know any areas around Elko or the Rubies that hold some bunnies.
My son and I are going up there this year and was hoping we could find some bunny hunting for the daytime when we have some spare time to just have fun.

Well, you can shoot jackrabbits all day long about anywhere around Elko, Wells, Carlin, etc. Cotton tails and white tailed jacks are considered small game and they are seasonal. Youths (16 and under can shoot those between 9/28 and 10/6. After 10/12 till Feb 28, 2020 you should be good to go. 10 daily and 30 in possession if memory serves. I don't know if you are resident or not, but the aforementioned small game requires a license.

That said, the areas north of Ryndon, Osino, Elburz and Deeth have some black tailed jacks hopping around out there. Just about anywhere actually. Kind of hard to pin point till the snow hits. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks for the info yes we were interested in Cottontails if there are any in that area.
We have pursued the Gamecocks in the high country and have little luck. We are going to try again this year but it is some climbing involved.
We hunt in the morning and evening and try to fish or hunt small game during the day.
We tried to find some cottontails last year but didn't see too many but we heard the Coyotes howling all over and figured that was the issue. Shot three coyotes last year as they weren't even afraid of us.
When I shot my deer one came right in after the shot. I got him at 100 yards running towards me. All the ranchers appreciate that we hunt those Coyotes as they are out of control in the Rubies.
