I am curious what BC considers full curl for "mountain sheep" and "thinhorn" sheep. I looked for definitions in regulations, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Perhaps someone can enlighten me.

You might want to post this in General hunting or the sheep forum . You will probably get a few guys with BC experience to respond . I have noticed that the BC forum gets very little traffic . Good luck

LBH,
Is a Stone sheep hunt in your future?
I can feel it coming since you lived through your last adventure!

Provincial Regulations Pages 1-26

Bighorn and Thinhorn (Stone) are looked at differently.

I have hunted in BC but not for sheep but the people there talked about the horn needing to be "past the nose" which I think meant past the bridge of the nose/forehead. It was also legal if it was 8 years old.

WV has it correct, although his last paragraph applies to thinhorn sheep (we have both Dall's and Stone's in BC).

Rules for bighorns vary depending on the area, can be 3/4 curl, full curl, or mature (mature is over the bridge of the nose; see regs for definition of the other 2).

Well, LBH left just 2 days ago for his BC Stone sheep hunt!
I knew he was up to something when he was asking about regulations! LOL

Good luck my friend!
