First time using a whitetail form for a mule deer mount. I did have to use a mule deer change out head. The pedestal was made from some recycled pallet wood. Think it turned out pretty good.

Why?

Can someone show me a picture of an actual mule deer buck with a shoulder so muscles up you could see that level of muscle definition? Also why would the shoulder be so muscled up and toned but then he has a fat neck with rolls. Doesn?t look close to realistic to me. But I suppose if the owner is happy that's what counts

Hair pattern low on the chest, near the brisket, doesn't line up with the leg extensions.
Other than that the shoulder area is a little smaller than normal.

Probably not overly noticable by many.

+1. Iron, Don't get me wrong, I'm not slamming your work, I can see your attention to detail is top notch, just not a fan of the ripple look from the form. I've seen thousands of mile deer in my years and yet to see one with bulging veins an rippling Golds Gym muscles. It seems to be a big fad lately though?

I agree , not a fan of the schwartzenager (how DO u spell that?!) look on deer. Not natural looking to me but i guess it looks different so some folks like it... Obviously talented artist, why waste (imo) time on something that doesnt occur in nature? I guess tryin to make it look bigger- get a yearling cape and mount up some bigass horn on it with some huge muscles pokin out... then oil it up to a nice sheen!!!
