"Snow camo" antler hunters

LAST EDITED ON Feb-09-08 AT 02:50PM (MST)[p]WTF is up with people wearing "SNOW CAMO" while chasing deer for antler drops? I saw several people today east from cabelas, wearing full snow camo, CHASING deer and picking up antlers. They so ashamed of their behavior they dont want to get spotted from the road? Its obvious they arent doing it to keep from disturbing the deer because they were kicking them up and making them run.

I saw 20 deer running out of a small canyon so I glassed up in there and sure enough, several people in snow camo making a "drive" through the area. 2 guys had antlers in their hands I could see. They immediately turned as a group and pushed the deer north out of sight.

Unbelievable...!

They are driving up into micron, then west to the edge of the micon maintance shed and walking up from there. At least thats where their tracks came from.

Call the authorities. Its idiots like that that screw it over for all of us as well as the deer.

that's wierd, we have alot of deer and elk right by micron here in boise too. just as he said i'd be calling your fish and game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i can tell why they are wearing snow camo, not only are they harrasing the deer but all of that land is private property and they dont want to get caught trespassing.

+1 it is posted everywhere! the property owner will also prosecute them if you turn them in.

I am keeping an I on this area and have the local authorities on speed dial. There is also a lot of poaching going on in this area over the last few years.

We have to police ourselves if we want any deer to survive this winter. Turn them in if you see them again

Archery is a year round commitment!!

Please Tell us that you at least called the sheriff's office if not the dwr. When we don't report this stuff it just emboldens these a-holes.

This makes me sick!
ANYONE who would be purposely be pushing these animals this winter doesn't give one ounce of ##### about these deer.

Thanks for the post, maybe more eyes will be on these tresspasser "poachers"!

Yes you can get busted for "poaching" if you are harrassing game on purpose.....it's called wonton destruction", the animal you are harrassing doesn't necessarily have to be actually dead.
They can just prove the point that your actions CAN kill the animal.

If it was on the south side of the "point of the mountain" behind Cabela's, it's the "central" region and open to shed hunting anytime,but i still beleive this is ALL private property.
