Why do we limit our hunting? Part2

Hoss, keep in mind these are just the auction (?conservation?) tags. That number does not include the 200 expo permits. Not that 430 wasn?t bad enough, but it is much more than 430 tags out of the public draw.

I pulled numbers from either 2017 or 2018, I can't remember the what year the numbers were from. There were 181 bull elk tags allocated to the expo or to conservation organizations to raffle or auction. You think 181 more tags EVERY year would assist with point creep? That is 905 more people EVERY year that are in the 5-year waiting period and not in the elk pool. Potentially 905 less elk applicants every year that are currently not subject to the waiting period, but who are now still accruing points or in the draw. Think that makes a difference for point creep?

Yeah, Utah is a mess, but not for the reason many people think.

110 buck deer tags that same year. Just for reference.

Quit crying like a wimp and go hunt.

I went hunting this last weekend. I have "modest means". I'm going again this weekend.

I may never get to hunt a bull elk in a Utah limited entry unit. But I have just as much chance of working hard, EARNING MONEY, and if I want to, spend it on a special game tag.

Quit sitting around crying that its harder to get a handout from the state and GO HUNT. Quit blaming evil rich people and greedy wildlife departments for making you a bum that bangs on a googler all day instead of getting up and GO HUNT.

Keep telling you genius, we don't have hunting in the intermountain west right now. Turkeys open soon and ill be sure and hit them. IN SEASON.

A How was the thread count on your hunt? Did they have a Michelin rated chef? I heard about a "corn cannon", did you get to sit over one? How was the blind? Heated? I know its in the 70' s there, pretty brutal. How were the chairs? Office type or lazy boy?

Come on, you said you would tell us all about it.

But go do it in the Texas section so like minded folks can give you the praise you bought.

If I had any interest in shooting a pen raised, high fence, exotic, I'd walk out in the back yard and shoot one of the goats.

Guess ill wait for seasons to open for a wildlife species.

Why not Tri? You pay taxes to maintain and support the land those LE units sit on. You pay into Pittman, that supports DWR. You've bought tags, I'm assuming paid into conservation groups.

Why shouldn't you be able to hunt an LE unit ever, but folks like the Waldrips do it yearly?

All yapping aside. That is the issue. If Utah was set up like Texas, it would be whinning. Its not, there has just been a backdoor created. I didn't vote on 430 tags. No one here did.
