I just heard of vortex new release of their UHD(Ultra high definition) binoculars.
Assuming they will soon offer UHD spotters. Can anyone confirm?

They posted on Instagram yesterday about them. Go to the Vortex page and if that answer all of your questions.

Homer,

My pard who bought my old Swaro has both the 25x50 and 20x60 eyepieces. I originally bought it with the 20x.

We'll be spending alot of time this summer and fall comparing the two.

I find it funny how these glass companies try to out do each other with their terminology. I guess HD isn't good enough anymore. Instead of just saying new and improved they got to add a new letter to sound special. Vortex will now be UHD. Next some company will claim their glass is SUHD(Super ultra high def) then the next company wont want to be left behind and come out with SDUHD(super duper ultra high def). All just a marketing ploy.

Mtmuley,

I absolutely understand. Been there, done that.

I can only speak to what I have on hand.

Did your eyepiece lock ring not work?

Advertising aside, the Vortex isnt a Swarovski, but its holding well thus far

And the people who actually build the good stuff stopped naming their products HD/UHD/ETC

I think the quality keeps going down every new gen. Maybe its just me.

Ive got some of their stuff and have been happy with it, but not with my gen 2 spotter

I sold my razor HD?s and went to look at a pair of the UHDs. I didn't see much difference. Then I compared them to the Cabela euro (meopta) and I ended up going with the meopta. I love vortex and their warranty and I will still continue to run their spotter and countless riflescopes for now. Just my opinion

There's no better glass, dollar for dollar than Meopta. The binos cost half what Swarovski does and side by side some folks prefer Meopta and the rest can't see enough difference to even bother with.
