I would have to disagree with it being a worthless piece of junk, I think the technology behind it is fascinating and a look into the future of what mankind will be able to do with a little aid from robotics.
If it is marketed to the DOD the makers of that thing are goign to reap huge rewards in the near future. Hopefully they will create a sportsman's version that would allow you to elevate over tall brush and whatnot.
I think it would be even better if he had a pole mounted to his head that protruded forward 20 feet. He could mount a 50 pound weight to it that would act as a counter balance. LOL
Can you imagine trying to get thru the thick brush with that contraption. I'd probably just get one for the better half and let her do the packing????? Yea, Right!!!
Imagine the possibilities with this as far as the handicap go. You would think they're only one step away from helping people walk again, or at least people that have injuries that keep them from hiking long distances. My dad can no longer go on the long hikes he used to. If it got him in the field again, I'd be willing to pay any price.
What you guys are missing here is that the back pack he is wearing is the transportation device for the batteries, hydraulic pump and reservoir. Once you have all that crap stuffed into the backpack you have enough room left over for exactly one peanut butter and jelly sammich!
If you aren't crippled now,
you will be,
that contraption is an accedent waiting to happen,
catch it in the brush and send you head over hills.
i still think the saddle bags for my pet pig work the best.
