Here is my 2018 General season buck, he is officially my biggest buck to date as he beats my Limited Entry buck from 2011 out by a couple inches. He is 28" wide, and has a main frame of 190" with a couple small extras pushing him to 194 gross.

Totally lucked into him and this was one of the rare times a buck grows when you walk up on him.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-01-18 AT 12:21PM (MST)[p]Nice Buck, thanks for sharing.

Alfalfa and corn all summer, washed down with reservoir water?

Got him on the rifle hunt, on my family's farm. This is a rare specimen for the area, not many bucks live to be this big around here. Was contending with several other landowners and hunters in the area that had been hunting him all fall. This was my first morning hunting on the farm as I had been focusing my efforts on the mountain. Was trying to push a buck out of the thick stuff to my dad and got a shot at him in the process, is all I knew was he was a good 4x4 when I shot him, I had no idea there was a buck this big in the area. I just happened to be the lucky one to tag him.

So no he is not a Public land buck, but still one hell of a buck in my book.

Well, he may have been killed on private property, but he was still a general season buck - it was not high fence, and it doesn't sound like your family's spread covers his entire range, you were competing with several other farms, - so, I would say he is every bit a public land buck, except in the slimmest of semantic arguments.

Great job dude!

HOOK 'EM!
