Thanks

I drew 3rd season there . At 63 I wanted to burn my 3 points. Just looking for some starting points, not Your honey holes. THanks..........BULL!

You will have to work hard to find an average deer. We own land in this unit and we were surprised to see a tag increase.

>Hunt around lone cone peak

Good advice if there is no snow. Unfortunately, most of the north/northwest side of Lone Cone in unit 70 is private.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-17-19 AT 12:30PM (MST)[p]If you hike in 6-8 miles you can get in adjacent to that private there's some big boys in there.

Also I believe most of the private only goes up to between 8 and 9000 feet. There some good aspen country above that.

Thanks Guys, keep it coming. I will be 63 at time of hunt but can Glass with the best and Shoot too. If You can put Me in an area with Bucks I will find. Em. Like I said I am willing to pay land owner fee if they have Real deer Don't give me this 160 Chit. I can shoot them in the desert Here outside Phoenix., Or I will hike high if no Snow.....Thanks BOB!

You will be hunting much more beautiful country that you are used to, but if a 160 buck does not excite you, not sure you will be very excited in 70. I hunted 4th season a few years ago with a cow tag and my resident friend had a buck tag. Not much snow and I hunted around the base of lone cone for an elk. Didn't see any deer over 150. My friend hunted low where the does were and saw one deer over that during a week of hunting, but no shot. IF you get early snow then I think you will do well, but if warmer and dry, not so much. I do think you should explore private because by 3rd season, they pretty much stay there until the snow drives them down. Good luck.
