"Could you get him? He big enough?"

You're archery hunting. You peek over the ridge and there he is, 50 yards away. You've got just 20 seconds to draw and send one. Would you? Could you? Can you get him?

Thank you all for making use of the site. I really appreciate the support. Hope you like my "what if's".

3. "RE: Could you get him? He big enough?"

For me my "what happens next" syndrome would kick in. I'd have to leave that one to see what he'd turn into next year. He seems to be 4ish year old deer that has a couple growing seasons left and is headed in the right direction for sure. One of my biggest hunting regrets is shooting a 1st year small 4 point pretty much off his mamas tit. When I was much younger. That thing would have been a true bruiser...

I would take him but not with the shot I have there. First 50 yards is my maximum range and second the limb covering his vitals and the fact that when I finally have a shot at his vitals he's got me made would make me pass. Probably why I'm a poor archery hunter I'm always passing up shots I could possibly make with ideal conditions but field conditions are seldom ideal. Thanks for posting these founder you have video of more big deer than I think I've ever seen.

Awesome buck. Poor shot and he has you pegged. Have to wait and see what happens next with him. Minutes or days? I don't want to live with a poor shoot or wounded buck. That's just me.

That video appears to be taken well before he has fully grown his antlers. I'd bet that was taken well before September 1, so it's hard to know. If he grows another 3-4" on each tine, I'd try it if the shot was there. Not sure I could do it in 20 seconds in this video, but I'd try if his horns got the tine length he has the potential to reach

The video is from last week. Heíll grow more. Iím thinking heíll finish around 180 and 30-32 inches wide.

I couldn't and wouldn't make the shot. Beautiful buck, though.

I wouldn't even think twice about it! I respect all the guys who wouldn't take that shot, but I know that if that shot was presented to me I would need about about 12 seconds to get it done by myself, and less time than that if I had someone with me to call the range. He's totally opened up to his vitals giving you the perfect opportunity to tuck an arrow behind that front shoulder. I would't be upset to hang him on my wall either...
