Help with NR antelope

Planning a trip all the way from Alabama on our very first antelope hunt. We will have zero points. Been doing a lot of research, and trying to narrow down our choice for units. Need some help from you guys who are obviously experienced in it. Hunting public, and I know from my research that a lot of the zero point units have limited access.

15,18 are some we are leaning towards. Not looking for spots, but what would be a few good units to consider? Any antelope would be a trophy to us. We just don't want to spend the money and drive 20 hours for a bust. We are not afraid to put miles in on foot. I would actually enjoy that more. Thanks I'm advance guys.

Did unit 15 couple years ago on leftover, bad idea. Killed antelope, but got lucky and it was really frustrating. Most of the state land that is accessible doesn't hold antelope, too steep and brushy. No experience with 18, but I would avoid 16 and 24 as well.

I'd post up down in the Wyoming forum as well. Put yer mouthguard in, theres a few elbows flyin down there.

Slick,
Any area you draw with zero points will be limited in antelope numbers or have lots of private land issues to deal with, or both. I'd just be prepared for some difficulty of some sort, given that lots of guys are in the same boat as you. Wanting to come experience any new hunting adventure always comes with a price.
Best of luck.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-06-19 AT 02:25PM (MST)[p]That is great advice from LittleBigHorn, be prepared for it to be more difficult than you think it will be on a 0 point unit (it is 0 point for a reason). Will you be paying the special price fee or just the cheap fee?

I would recommend the more expensive fee or you might want to seriously consider getting 1 or 2 points first and finding a better unit in the future. Another option is to try for a random tag in a lower point unit on the special and then as a back-up find a private land trespass fee hunt on your 2nd choice tag (this is also not that simple).

LAST EDITED ON Aug-05-19 AT 11:49PM (MST)[p] I can't remember the unit. I used to hunt just out of Casper. Unit 30 or 31 i think. I never had points and always killed goats. I killed one about 8yrs on public that just missed B&C. All on public land. Not sure if you need points now or not.
