bucked the odds and drew what I supposed to be a killer good tag. It is in the genetic sweet spot of NM and they get some giants around there. This is the first year they opened the units up and not ranch specific, which I understand is going to be a game changer. Gonna have a usual busy fall and this is first up at the latter part of August. I am planning on a week long scouting trip about July and then a week before the season. Hoping to have #1 buck drilled down by then. There are only 10 tags in the units and lot so country and most are residents. Most NM residents only draw a tag or two in their lives so my guess is most will likely shoot the first decent buck in a three day season. but with that said I am sure some of the big players in the guide world will be looking around....so there's that...

But anyways a new adventure and excited by the unknown....

I drew my tag on a guide attachment and he has some basic ideas but any ideas are greatly appreciated and I always try to play it back to those who help me.... Ted

Good luck! I drew unit 15 first period and will be going with Eli and PGS. I'm really hoping for an 85"+ pronghorn!!

BWHT Well you upped your odds about a million percent with Pronghorn Guide Service...!!!! They are super tacked down and their ability year after year is unmatched...just keep them busy in 15 ahahah

Congratulations Ted!,
You apparently still have the knack for pulling great tags, and genetic sweet spots seems to be your thing!
NM and neighboring AZ are where it's at for BIG Pronghorns. I'm sure you will pin one down a killer buck. Just remember mass is king when it comes to "booner" goats! But you already know that! Way to go my friend.

I'm not sure if have such a knack...been throwing lots of darts for years and occasionally one hits or like my deer tag I ended up surprising with a bunch of points on accident. Will work my tail off...... my big three " stress tags" Sheep...goat and deer ended up with trophies and most importantly adventures I will never forget...as they say a little luck and lots of hard work sometimes pays off now when I find out I pulled a great tag in Utah....maybe we can meet in person!!!!

Yes mass is king for Pronghorn score and not the king with deer and elk which I think is just the opposite of the bad-ass appeal of those animals...but with that said it is a "massy" area with some SCI knarly troll's in the high 90's!!!!
