LAST EDITED ON Jan-01-19 AT 08:06PM (MST)[p]So i found these today. Theyre from the buck i was after this year. Had 4 encounters with him from my treestand. Was drawn on him twice, once at 20 yards and once at 30 yards, but didnt get to release an arrow at him. Post season, dec 28th, i went to look for his sheds. There i was leaning against a tree looking at tcam pics and he walked right up to me, still sporting his rack. Stopped at 15 yards and checked me out, then came in to 4 or 5 yards for a closer look, it was surreal. Anyway, went back today and found his matched set laying side by side. He dropped them at 10:42pm on dec 30th while butting heads with a 4x4. Theyll look great mounted on the wall next to him after i get him next year!

That's one heck of a buck, man alive, expecially with the history between you two. Did you get any atls? What state are you in? Congrats on your find.

Yes !!!!
That's a cool story. Looking forward to seeing your posts next year with trail cam pics of him and on to the season.

Cheers, Pete

Finally got him nov 23rd 2019. His split brow swapped sides, some tines shrunk, he put on some junk, and 3 days before i got him he got in a fight and busted his left g4 off. Old brawler, lots of battle wounds, never seen the like. Old and new wounds from fighting bucks, and old and new, very new, wounds from at least 2 lion attacks he survived. Most recent lion attack was likely within 24 hours before i got him. Claw cuts not even scabbed up yet. And he had tooth punctures in his throat. Damn cat had his throat in his jaws but he escaped, crazy. I went back 12 days later, called in and killed a lion about a mile away from where i got the buck. Its not the only cat in the area, but it makes me happy to think i got the culprit, so im going with that.

Beautiful Buck! Just curious, what's the deal with the mounted lower jaw from your post on Jan 23, 2019?

Not silly at all, actually a really neat idea. He looks like an old warrior, thanks for sharing.

I like your style. Coolest hunting story I've heard in a while and a couple of dang fine Whitetails.
