Nevada Electronic big game permit return/surrender

I vaguely remember hearing that a successful permit holder could return a tag electronically within a few days of the draw. I see the "return" button on the kalkomey account, but I can't find any information on it online. Does anyone know where to find it? Seems like I remember there being a big benefit to doing it within a week of the drawing vs waiting until later.

If you go to your Kalkomey page, logon. On the left is a menu. Scroll down to applications and points. Click on that. Your unsuccessful and awarded information should come up. click on the down facing arrow of your awarded and the information on your hunt should pop in there. On the upper right of that information is a red "Return Tag" option. Click on the red return tag option and it will ask you if you really and truly want to return that tag. good luck!

Did you draw a tag that you know you will be returning?

You have until 05/27/2020 5:00 AM PDT to electronically return your tag on ndowlicensing.com. Returning your tag electronically, prevents you from having to return your tag in person, and gets you your points back immediately. It also ensures that your tag will go to an alternate hunter who may not have otherwise been able to hunt. To return your tag electronically:

  1. Log into your account on NDOWlicensing.com.
  2. Navigate to your licenses section.
  3. Find the tag that you wish to return, expand upon the tag, and click "return tag".
  4. Complete the prompts to complete the return of your tag.
Note:

  1. You will not receive a refund for an electronic tag return. If you have a circumstance such as a death, medical, or military reason for returning your tag that would institute a refund, DO NOT utilize the electronic option. Wait until to receive your tag to return it for a refund.
  2. DO NOT return your tag electronically unless you are ABSOLUTELY SURE that you do not intend to use that tag
  3. Once a tag has been returned electronically, that decision cannot be reversed. You will not be able to get a tag back that you return electronically.

There is a thorough explanation in your email.
Crazy thing is I haven't received any emails for me or any of my family. I got a card charge at 1154pm and finally got a look into the account after midnight on the Kalkomy site. Anyone else not get an email yet?

yep.....the return tag button is very simple and it will ask you several times if you are sure......no refund, no tag........but within minutes my 19 deer points were restored.....it does make you nervous because it never mentions points

all I wanted was a point....I shared them with a couple nv resident buddies........probably last year to do that

Well, that don't make you a bad person. And 19 NR points seems to be about 4 to a resident. You wanna share with me next year if they don't ban it???? Lol

So to be clear, do you just get your previous points back? Or was that 18+1=19 for this years app?
Thanks in advance!

Utah put in a new rule on returned tags regarding points. The whole party has to return tags or points will not be restored and even if they return them the party will not accrue a bonus point for that year. An individual tag will have points restored but will not accrue one for that year. I hope Nevada follows suit.

Just because its legal doesnt make it right either.

Why not someone will get the tag I returned and I ended up paying $130 for that point

No real problem with individuals. Im mostly disappointed with the party scamming. I also thought NDOW doesnt have to reissue the tag if they dont want but maybe that changed or maybe I’m thinking of another state. Either way mostly disappointed with the party scam.

I'm embarrassed to say I even applied for deer in Nevada this year with how rampant the party hunting scam is. NDOW YOU READ THESE FORUMS FIX THIS CRAP FOR THE HUNTERS NOT SCAMMING THE SYSTEM HAVE A FAIR CHANCE!!!!

Ah got ya. I didn’t realize this was an issue and I agree that is BS

party hunters???....do you know what that is??

Yep! I know what party hunting is and don't have a problem with it. I just have a problem with the party hunting and returning a tag scam. It just screws the odds up for us not taking advantage of the system. Sounds like you think it is BS to from your post #14: "It is BS....but I didn’t write the rules...I’m pretty sure they are about to put a stop to it."

Party hunting is when everyone in the party of hunters can keep shooting till all tags are filled.....illegal almost everywhere....

You need to call this something else.

Party apps to point boost those in the party with less points to give the lesser point holders better odds to draw the tag.

Better odds for the lower point holders as the average bonus points are squared in NV. Probably more applicable to NV residents than NR’s since it is a bonus point state, NR draw odds are very low to begin with, and there is no guarantee that your party will draw the tag(s) even with a boat load of squared points. In a preference point state like WY it is a different story.

I don’t blame anyone for utilizing the draw rules that are in place to help them or family obtain tags as long as it is legal and not done fraudulently. As a NR that has been in the points game in the western states for over two decades patiently waiting in line for tags, I can‘t tell you how many times I’ve had the rug yanked out from me by changes to the NR draw just as I was on the cusp of drawing a tag...
