The Great American outdoor act passed the Senate and Congress.

Ben McAdams, Utah’s lone lib, and congressman from liberal Utah, voted to support Utah’s sportsmen.

Mike Lee, Mitt Romney, John Curtis, Rob Bishop, Chris Steward voted a big double finger to Utah’s sportsmen.

I realize in today’s climate that lib means socialist.

But SERIOUSLY, is there EVER going to be a time when we demand the R vote for hunters and fishermen in Utah?

We DESERVE BETTER!!

The bill was pushed through the Senate by Daines of Montana and Gardner of Colorado, two Republican Senators in tough reelection fights. It's amazing how much of a difference there is in politicians in a two-party state where they know they can use support of public lands as a tool to win votes.

In Utah, every Republican voted against it and Mike Lee is urging Trump to veto while Rob Bishop circulated a memo to every Representative trying to convince them to vote against it. They are true enemies of public lands but we keep running to the polls to reelect them.

I hope Trump signs it into law as it's a win for Sportsmen!

Yup. What I’ve said for years. You can be R, and still demand that those R support you as a sportsman.

Mike Lee is the senior senator in Utah. Is there a single vote, or single piece of legislation he’s passed to support Utah sportsmen?

It OK for us to want guns AND the land to use them on.

You might want to find out the reason they voted against the GAOA bill.
We listened to you guys lecture everyday about national debt, we listen to you guys scream about over reach goverment but you blindly support a bill because they name it the Great American Outdoor Act.
You believe it is all about helping hunting!
But it is what I come to expect out of guys that are willing to he part of an organization that was partners with the Sierra Club.
How well did that turn out!

Well, “that organization“ got the LWCF pushed through. Which spent money ALL READY taxed on offshore oil, for what it was intended for.
Your boy Lee and Romney, preferred using it as a slush fund.

Mike Lee and Bishop have had a strategy to starve FS/BLM for maintenance money forcing closure of trails, roads, infrastructure.

Then campaign on the necessity of State Transfer in order to “run things better.

I’ll assume Curtis and Stewart are following along that path.

Romney has been for sell to the highest bidder for years, not hard to figure him out.

Not don. Can you show me a single bill by Romney or Lee in support of hunting?

So BHA gets one pushed through, Lee and Romney have zero. Who should we be more concerned with?

Oh wait, Romney was going to lead the effort to address Wild Horse issue.

But since that was a year ago and we ain’t seen anything, safe to assume it’s a zero?

Guess what. “That org” will applaud Trump when he signs it. Then what? BHA supports Trump? Holy chit, I guess that will make Trump a green decoy too?

double edged sword.....vote all libs in and you can become california....

Go give it a look. My county got $6million plus. Including 2parks my kids play sports on.

Also.

Mitt Romney is pushing funding for an extension of the Bonneville trail. May Notdon should call him and tell the clown the original trail used LWCF money.

Plus, here’s his worry about debt

.

So I guess he’s an idiot, and a big spender?

So hoss, grizz and all the supporters of the GAOA, I suppose you do not mind no oversight on spending.
The original GAOA was set to be revisited every 5 years and then funded. Then in 2019 they pushed the bill saying we do not need to revisit just make it permanent we just need to visit every two years and appropriate the funding and now they make it were they do not even need to appropriate the funding, just give them 900 million with no oversight. What's next a blank check!
Hoss no more complaining about covid assistant funding you can't have it bolth ways you support no oversight spending for what's important to you then you must accept what's important to others.
Just remember one thing all government agencies are being taken over by progressives.
Do you think this program is going to help how you like to recreate in the future?
Read this article it is from the Public Lands Council

Really?

So according to the author it’s better for sportsmen if he, a rancher, buys or owns land. Then YOU can subsidize his ranch, subsidize his feed, subsidize his market. Oh, and to say thanks, he’ll sell you a trespass waiver, or lease to an outfitter?

But thanks again for making the point. It’s a “land grab” if YOU own the land. And the Feds poorly manage it.

That is exactly the playbook Lee/Bishop, and before them Hatch push.

So, let’s be honest Notdon. A fire burned from Indianola to Mapleton last year. $110 million to fight it. Where is Utah coming up with $110 million for 1 fire? I asked Lee. No answer. I asked Bishop and got an entire page of words that basically amounted to “I don’t know”

But back to that “land grab” article. When the Wills bro’s buy it is that a land grab? When BP does?

Further, have you been on a mtn, or a desert or lake this year? Here is what we have ACTUALLY learned from COVID. People value greatly public ground.

The LWCF is “ funded”. The fight is to get it out of control of Congress. Otherwise it’s a tax on offshore oil, that Congress will use a a slush fund.

What you keep missing is that the developers and drillers are taxed. Somehow you think it’s a better plan to let AOC decide how to spend it? Really? That’s the plan?

It’s beyond asisinine for ANY republican to pretend that $900million is just too much, as they sign on to $3 trillion in “stimulus” and are now wanting at least ANOTHER $1 trillion.

And NO. Mike Lee who was born and raised in DC, and Mitt Romney who was born and raised in Michigan, don’t care about YOUR land. They care about political power. And cash. Neither do they get by opening access to YOU.

Mike Lee can get $900 million by cutting foreign aid to Europe. He can start there

The make believe world folks like yourself live in. Despite seeing what’s going on. Show me Romney or Lee balanced budget amendment. Show me a bill any Utah Republican has written to slash spending. Let’s not forget, the R had COMPLETE control of the country for 2 years when Trump was elected. How did spending go? Abortion ended? Obama care eliminated? Gun laws repealed?

NOPE. So let’s not pretend like any of the BS they spew now is anything other than BS.

And yup, as my grandkids pay for the $4 trillion the republicans supported just this year, at least they will have a place to camp, or fish, or hunt. Left to the Utah R, they’d sell that too, and still spend $4trillion.

+1

I guess now the litmus test is you can not be a rancher and care about public lands.
Hoss most ranchers do more for public lands in one year than the average outdoorsman does in a lifetime.

Nice spin

Your neighbor rancher ain’t buying land to feed cows/sheep that they lose money on. Which you know. The corporations buying up the west aren’t ranchers, they don’t do improvement projects, and they generally aren’t hunter friendly.

All of which you know, because I’m assuming you go outside and don’t see sprawling ranches, but do see sprawling developments.

You can simply look at the median age of ranchers and see they aren’t aggressively expanding. The majority are downsizing.

There is the world that is, vs the world you fantasize about.

A locked gate is a locked gate. Doesn’t matter rancher, oilman, timber company, or ranchette.

I have no clue how Romney can even be elected to represent Utah.
He had a second home here in Deer Valley, it is being sold.
He has never actually lived here for any length of time since he went to BYU. Whatever the minimum requirement is to run for office here, I am sure he barely made it.
He has NO business representing us.

You get $fw parading you around convincing hunters he’s on our side.

There is just little alternative anymore. There’s no “moderate” dems or Reps, so it’s Romney or Marxism
