CWMU expansion?

My family has drawn quite a few buck, bull, and antlerless tags on several CWMUs over the past +20 years. Several of those animals have been very nice trophies. Every single hunt the landowners and operators have been nothing short of excellent and done everything they could to help us be successful. Never once have we felt lesser or second class compare to the paying clients or the landowners family members with the private tags.
That's good to hear. That is the intent of the program but unfortunately there are some CWMUs who don't treat the public hunters that good. If public hunters who feel they have been mistreated would report it to the DWR/CWMU program administration it would help. My advice would be, read the rules and if the operator don't follow them, report him in writing. The bad ones need to be weeded out.

They should be great. They are given animals to seel at their discretion for whatever price they choose.

Oil guys pay for oil
Miners pay for minerals
Grazers pay for grass

CWMU opens a gate for a couple dudes.
The fact elk, deer and Antelope are eating and drinking the commodities of the private land owner is nothing!
We all know you hate anyone owning land, I bet you hate yourself for the 1/4 acre that your house is on.
More than 70 percent of the elk and deer population on the Manti and Fish Lake units will use private land sometime throughout the year in order to survive.

Lets discuss the Manti, because I know it.

If you graze the mtn to dust, you force the animals to move. The biggest sheep herds on the Manti, belong to ranchers with the most private land. But that private land is growing hay. Not hay to feed their livestock, hay to sell to Bailey's to be shipped to China and Saudi Arabia.

So they, eat the mtn to dust, then pull the herds into town for a week or 2 then out to the desert.

In short, they follow the migration of those deer, only they do it months earlier so they can feed off what once fed deer on their migration.

In order to grow that Chinese and Saudi hay, 9 mile reservoir is gone. Gunnison Reservoir is gone. The irrigation ponds dried up continuously all summer. The springs are being sucked to death.

So you damn right the deer and elk are "forced" onto private.

And FYI. I support public grazing. I hunt private ground. My extended family at one time was the largest wool producers in the US. On Saturday of the opener of muzzy I generally sit above the sheep trails so I can watch the dogs work. So every assumption you made was 100% wrong.

But facts are facts. If your public grazing, you shouldn't be allowed to then turn around and go CWMU. Its no secret grazers get a cut rate deal, WHICH I SUPPORT, but they dont deserve to then turn around and get free products for their corporate hunting as well.
