does anyone know what kind of stock were used on the Montana's? Bell and Carlson? I'm looking to potentially replace a stock. since they're out of business, it may be futile at this point.

I put a really nice ding in mine and it drives me nuts to look at (it wasnt done in the fields).

Which model do you have? Pretty sure the older ones were Serengeti stocks and the newer ones are a Kevlar stock built for them but not sure by who.
You could probably have the ding repaired and the stock repainted or dipped.

Fill the ding and have it hydro-dipped or painted...unless you simply want something different.

I know, you ask for a steak dinner place and we tell you where the best seafood restaurant is. LOL

Thanks man. I have the extreme x3. Bought a few years ago.
The extreme x3 is definitely the light weight Kevlar stock and a nice stock. Replacing it with something comparable will be expensive. I’d repair the ding and touch up the paint or if you want to change colors get it completely repainted or hydro dipped.

yeah, love that stock. damn shame they're out of business. Anyway, I may just not mess with it and repair and paint. thanks for the advice guys.

one more thing, any preference on "fill" material used for repair?
It depends on where it is.
If on the edge or a stress point, I'd use accra gel epoxy bedding but most any epoxy will work if you rough-up the hole.
Otherwise, bondo works just fine.

*epoxy will be a bit tougher to sand down smoothly since it will be harder than your painted or dipped surface so use a wood sanding block with your sand paper.

Zeke is pretty darn good at putting lipstick on a pig and making it a beauty queen, so I'd take his advice! He's tried to fix me a time or two, but I believe I'm his only failure! :ROFLMAO:
