Best Remington ultimate ML loads

Recently purchased one, looking for suggestions on YOUR best load you’ve found. I shot the recommended load and Bullet by Remington and wasn’t pleased. I know it will shoot better than that, just trying to narrow it down a little by asking for others advice.

im not interest on the arrowhead plug conversion kit. If I go the BH route, I’ll keep my loads to the 100-110 by volume and the original system should be fine.

so let’s have them! What works for you? Open to any an all Bullet/powder/pellet combos! Thanks!

Get You Some BH 209 & Throw the Other Powders away!

We Load One Gun(Both Remington Ultimates!) with 110 Grains of BH 209 & 125 Grains in the other Ultimate!

Identical Guns, but that's what they Like!

Throw that recommended Load Remington sends with the Gun in to the F'N Trash Can!

We Were Shooting the 338 Grain PLATINUM POWERBELTS!

DAMN Accurate!

When Powerbelt Came Out with the ELR's We changed to them!

A Much Flatter Shooting BULLET that Puts the SMACK Down on Game!

Never use any more than a 140 Grains of BH 209!

We Did TOAST Both of Our Breech Plugs after about 300 Shots using the BH 209!

It's HOT Stuff & Eventually You'll need To Replace the Breech Plug!

Wish I Had the Money I've Spent Toying with SMOKEPOLE Loads over the years!

What has worked for me is, 95 grains (weight) not volume of black horn 209 with 275 parker bullets. ML loves it, plank steal all-day at 550 and took ML bull at 475 this year one shot. You will just have to experiment with powder and bullets to see what the gun likes. Good luck...

Are you shooting the 50 caliber 325 gr elr powerbelts out of the rum? I'm shooting a cva accura v2 LR 50 caliber but I'm shooting the 280 gr elr in a red sabot and it shoots great ahead of 84 grs bh209 by weight but I just ordered some of the 50 caliber 325 gr elr's to try so I don't have to "dr" up the 45 cal. Elr's

Fury star tip 2 320 gr bullets ( bore on bore) and 114 grains by weight of blackhorn!
.5 inch groups.
throw the Remington breech plug in the trash and get an arrowhead breach plug!

A brake is on a RUM is a must IMO. If you want a brake installed that’s a little less obnoxious looking, PM me. If you really wanna make the gun an animal convert it to a .45, it’s in a league of its own then. 310gr bullets at 2600fps +

as for the BH 209 charge. 105gr by wt is a good place to start. Wouldn’t run over 110gr by wt. on a factory RUM barrel.

What are You Afraid of on a Remington Barrel?

I've Shot 200 Grains of JUNK Pyrodex & The Barrel Survives!

Talked to a Guy at the Manufacturer that makes BH 209 & He Said DO NOT Load anything over 140 Grains of BH 209!

This is exactly what I use with excellent results.

I’d be afraid of Remingtons quality is all.

and the gun is approved for 200gr by volume of pyrodex so I would hope it survived.

Shot Quite a Few Rounds through My Remington before I Throwed the Pyrodex away!

No Problem with the Gun Handling it!

I Talked with a Guy at the BH 209 Office/Plant!

He Said:Never put anymore than a 140 Grains of BH 209 in any Gun!

The Recommended Load that Remington Sends with the Gun is JUNK!

That's what I've always heard never put more than 140 by volume that's why I question the 114 gr by weight hell that's something like 163 gr by weight

We run 120 by weight of bh209 in our converted ultimates with zero issues. I’ve heard of some guys running 126 by weight in The converted guns. I can’t believe they can burn anymore than 120. Might have to do a test and see where I stop gaining velocity.

Elk, sent you a pm

so after using alot of different recipes i found the lime green sabot,105 gr by weight bh 209 , and 300gr parker bullets were good out to 435 yds 5 in. groups. i have also killed elk at 40yds with arrowhead bullets at 275 gr. and was with on another hunt with bull out to 465yds and that arrowhead bullet was devatating

Just bought a used Remington ultimate. Are you running original breechplug or Arrowhead conversion? Thanks.

Shot mine at 350 yards on Saturday. 4 shots and they were all within 3", or less of the center bullseye. Totally kill shots! Two weeks in a row of spot-on shooting at that range anyway. I'm ready.
Seems like 95 by weight and a 275 Parker BE ay about 2280 fps is about all the recoil I can handle so you guys can keep your 120 grains by weight loads... because I'm a puss. haha

Still Running The Stock Remington Ignition!

They're Big Enough I Don't Fumble Them Around!

With Absolutely No Mods To Our Guns & Lots Of Different Loads/Dialing Them In These Guns Are Damn Accurate!

My Son Groups 3 Shots at 100 Yards With All 3 Touching Each Other!

I Myself ain't Quite That Good!:D

What powder are you using at 95 by weight ?
I have not received my 700 ultimate yet.
Should be any day now. I am not a muzzle loader so just getting started.

Oh ya, I forgot that I reduced my load for the barnes and that's what's in my ballistic program right now.

90 grains BY WEIGHT of BH209 with the 250 Barnes.
This load hoots pretty well (not quite as good as my 275 Parker BE with 95 by weight) in my rifle but I wanted to reduce recoil since a grandson was going to be using it but now he has a different one to use and I'll load it down for him.
TMI, as usual.
Zeke
