I shouldn’t even be promoting their videos but watch the shooting on this shat show and then he has the nerve to make a comment… (my words…“let’s hold off and not kill the animal so it can suffer and try to roll and drag its way down the mountain so it will get closer”)
He should have stop his clients shooting. Ugh. ARMY Strong.

7:50 in video gents

those guys are BAD.......pathetic and embarrassing....it's not even a good goat....

I love making fun of Utards...but you make it so easy

Ok, just stepped into the MM INTERNET POLICE CHAIR.

Gonna have to say this feller behind the gun shouldn’t be drinking and shooting!

Gonna have to say this feller guiding and filming shouldn’t be drinking and guiding/talking!

And before he gets on here to defend himself, gonna have to say you’ll have a better chance defending yourself and client if y’all were actually drinking!

Why the heck would you take a shot at something that you want to get closer to you?! So shoot it, wound it, hope it falls to your level to make it easier for the lazy to recover it? Don’t be a guide in an area like that if you aren’t willing to put in the effort to recover!

This crap makes it too easy for the anti’s to combine against the true sportsman who do not deserve this reputation!

Thanks for nothing!

This guy needs to quit while he's ahead. These videos are why hunting is getting a bad reputation.

It shows him to be a rookie at best...

I want to be friends with that kid who packed the goat off that cliff. Damn, haven’t they heard of skinning and packing the animal out in quarters. He is one tough kid though, my back screams just thinking about that pack out. Amazing.

The "guide", owner, whoever he is was defending another awful video on another thread in the elk forum. This comment captured the whole thing for me "If you really want to know who I am and what I am about, go on fb, find a Utah hunting page, mention my name and that I am some idiot outfitter that doesnt know what I'm doing or talking about."
His "reality" is virtual. In his mind the best way to really know him is to go to some random Utah Hunting facebook page and make a snarky comment about him and see all of his followers come to his defense.
Not "I'll take you to coffee and we can chat", not "call these people that I have guided" not "talk to this business owner in my town" but essentially he's saying that the people that know him best, are the people that watch all his videos and check out his pictures, but have never met him.

When it's all about the Likes and Follows, it doesn't really matter that you gut shoot a tiny bull and say he'll just be sore for a few days or take a ridiculous shot and miss by 5 feet or are irresponsible in how you/your client shoots a Goat. As long as you have your followers, you are important, knowledgeable, an expert, etc.
What a weird place this world is becoming...

...And as I write this comment, I am perpetuating the very internet culture that I am ranting against...

You forgot to mention the military card. That alone justifies all your actions after your service to country and gives you a free pass to an entitled future of virtual fame at any cost to the wildlife.

It's because he's a millennial, or real close to it. Can't be much over 30...

Learn a lot from a video like this. ??
Guess I was doing things wrong last week when I shot my Colorado Mtn Goat. Climbed 1300 feet in elevation to get closer. Had him at 180 yards as he worked his way up. By the time he reached 258 yards he turned sideways to give me a perfect shot and down he went. Tumbled down about 100 yards. Shot at 4:30pm, skinned out, cut up, loaded my friend’s and my pack and SLOWLY worked our way off the mountain in the dark with headlamps. Back to truck at 9:30 and at camp by 1am. Steepest pack out I ever did.
By the way, great tasting.

I only made it about 30 seconds into the intro. Anyone who has to empty half a windicator bottle to figure out which way the winds going just probably needs to stop and find something else to do
You really need to see the action starting at 7:50 into the video. Hard to believe. I think Stevie Wonder could have made better shots.

I am genuinely curious how far that goat was. And am quite appalled by the comment about letting the animal get closer after it was wounded, with at least one leg shot, and not sure how many other wounds.

Pretty sad really. There are some things that should not be on the internet.

This video is one of them.

We're all sitting around complaining about this joker for our own benefit.

He isn't paying attention and has probably deleted his MM account...

Stuff like this needs to be submitted to the game and fish department in their state. Yank their outfitter license. This is garbage, every single video. The shooting isn't on the guide, but the comment about letting the animal suffer to get closer, sure is. This gives hunters a horrible name. These videos are absolute garbage hunting. Shooting from what looks like half a mile away at least. I know it's hard to tell on camera, but that is one heck of a long shot, for someone who shouldn't be shooting that distance. To me, the comments are worse than the shooting.

Is there an outfitters and guides association in Utah?

Professional license division?

Permit requirements for BLM/FS?

That guy is only allowed one goat tag in his life. Thank God.
It may not be on the hunter, for all we know, he may have told guide he wasn't comfortable shooting from that distance. We do not know the details on that side. But if he chose to shoot that distance, and did not say he was uncomfortable shooting that far, than yes, Thank God.

The shooter's reaction suggests it was his idea and the man-child guide said "right on".

Do you suppose he thinks he is promoting his buisiness by posting this kind of crap? Ya just can't fix stupid. That is a classic example of long range shooting by an amateur encouraged by another amatuer. This kind of bullsheet should not be posted for the anti hunters to see. Or anyone else for that matter.

Allow an animal to fall to its death after its already hurt and suffer. Who knows how much time they cut out of that video first off. Second, all because they don't want to hike?

Sickening really. If my first shot doesn't kill the animal, but drops him, I will put another in him right away. No sense in letting a creature suffer because you are too lazy to put in the work.

IDK about the requirements for guide licensing, but shouldn't there be something about ethics?

Also notice this clown isn't posting anymore. What a joke.

It's because he didn't get the same following like on instagram.

This also disturbs me. It's like "There's some goats. They're too far away to retrieve today but go ahead and shoot one and we'll come back tomorrow and get it."

Edit: I should have said....too far to gut today...not retrieve.

Wow, Mike Harding probably gets back stage passes to this guides rock concerts because the veteran guide is a true rock star on camera…

Honestly, I think there are plenty of guys who can not care about the end result and the means of getting there just don’t seem to matter. If a guide can get a guy a trophy for the wall then the “how” doesn’t really matter. We live in a sad world where the hunt has really been lost on so many.

I know a guy (some people) like this. He will "purposefully" wound or hurt an animal enough to slow it down to get a closer kill shot on it. I know it's on purpose because of the long range (bow) shots at 100+ yards and hitting them in the abdominal region, legs, etc.

Don't worry gentlemen, I'm still here. Alot of assumptions are being made on here so I'll make a few apologies. The shot does look far, and that's because my cheap ass filmed the entire thing with a cell phone because, well, I'm not a production film company. Second apology is for not going after the goat that night like so many of you would have. I am responsible for alot of things, and safety plays a huge role in how I make decisions. With it being close to dark, I made the decision to go the next morning because my guides and clients safety and lives are far more important to me then risking them on a retrieval like that one, in the dark. If it was just me, I probably would've went up that night assuming all risks and liability, but I was responsible for 4 bodies, so I made the best decision at the time. I also apologize for wanting the goat a little closer. 2 reasons were behind that comment. #1, safety for the retrieval, as the ledge it was on, was quite nasty and would be even more dangerous trying to keep going up on the ledges where it was. #2, is I was hoping for the goat to give a better shot so the hunter could finish what he started, but obviously the goat had other plans. Side note, compared to.alot of hunts on youtube, that is by far one of the least graphic and shortest "tumbles" on their.
I also apologize for my cockiness, and I appreciate all your comments. Anyone of you are more than welcome to tag along on one of my hunts, or even share camp with me! Good luck on all your hunts this season! I'll try and make better videos, I'm just not quite the best filmmaker as of right now!!

How about don’t take the shot if it’s not where you can”safely” get it?

Pretty sure you full of $h!t
You've obviously never been on a Goat hunt I am assuming. They rarely are in a safe area, at least where these goats are on this specific unit. I also wasn't the hunter. He was comfortable at 400 yards, the closest we could get to the goats with the time we had and the line of sight we had, was 382. The shot angle was quite steep, but he was comfortable with it and I am only there to find the animals, not shoot them for the hunter. He did the best he physically could. Just because you may be a better shot doesn't mean everyone is as good as you. I appreciate your comment.

Your videos are embarrassing Steven....
That's ok. They will get better with time. I'm still trying to figure out how to film and guide at the same time. But, I am passionate about what I do so I recently enrolled in a filming school, which starts in November so hopefully my later content will be much better!!

To say the least

And your the one who said it wasn’t in a safe place to retrieve so you let suffer from a bad shot to get closer. If you really made the determination based on Saftey then you likely knew that before the shot. Your a clown

Enroll in hunting school first

You're welcome to join me on any hunts and show me the ropes brother! I welcome all input, critique and praise!

My input would be find something else to do and stop wounding game. I can’t imagine the horror show you don’t post on line if you share this garbage

Well, to be honest, your input doesn't carry any validity to me. If you were smart, you'd realize I am not the hunter in any of the videos. In fact, I'll pay you $100 if you can find a video of me as the actual hunter on a guided hunt. There are alot of things that can happen during a shot. Including just completely making a bad shot. But, I can't control what the hunter does, his breathing, his eyesight, wind factors, etc.

So at best your an incompetent guide that talks out his ass? Way to sell yourself

The camera work is good....what you say and do is the embarrassing part.......is there a class for that??
Well there is one positive outlook haha. I usually use my phone to film so that's good. I may say dumb stuff, that's no lie. In the moment I'm not to concerned with choosing my words. There are alot of things that are on my mind at that point. But, it's all a learning process so I will continue to learn what I can. I can promise though, my content will get better. All the negativity being brought on to myself and my outfit is actually helping teach me alot, so I appreciate everyone's comments!

I have shot a Goat myself and knew my limits and passed on much larger goats due to location and retrieval being an issue. Maybe next time just shoot it the next morning? Hard to say.
You act as though you’re not responsible for his shooting or his actions you sir are completely wrong.
Many guides have do and do nots like certain caliber of rifles, being able to shoot a pie plate at a certain distance before being allowed to hunt. It is sometimes up to the guide to try to know his hunters capabilities. After the first or second shot you should’ve stopped him right there and got him within the distance he was capable of shooting.

Thanks for being safe.

You have a lot of built up anger there buddy. Hope you can find some positivity in your life. I probably am a little incompetent in certain aspects. I am human, not superhuman...

Your right, and I do make sure the hunters can shoot, check their gear, etc. Alot of what happened in his hunt was decided for his own personal reasons, which is not my business to explain. He was asked repeatedly if he was comfortable. We ranged the animal multiple times to make sure we were correct. Alot of things and decisions can be made during a hunt, but they are usually thought of in hindsight, after the fact. I appreciate your comment sir!

23ft from what I could calculate ?
This boy is walking into a lions den. Got to give him credit for participation.

I have. Persian Ibex on the Florida's in southern NM.

That hunt will make a believer out of even the most experienced goat hunters...

I've never missed or made a bad shot on an animal with a bow. I can't speak for the hunter in that video or anyone else. Alot of things can happen with a bow shot. I was just there to film and to call.

Steve, that comment is made reference to your rifle elk hunt. Another topic here since you have been gone.

I didn't know I have a rifle hunt video online where I miss? I don't think I've ever actually hunted elk with a rifle.... I've always bow hunted. And I don't recall having a rifle elk hunt online aside from my little brothers hunt and my mothers. Neither of them missed their shots.

Oh yeah, that's right. That was all nerves haha
It was his very first Big Bull hunt, with a rifle. Hes an archery hunter as well. Ain't nothing wrong with nerves. It was a 350 yard shot, which believe you me, my dad and myself gave him nothing but crap right after, laughing at him for missing so bad haha. If there is anyone out there that hunts and doesnt get a little buck fever once in a while then they are a soulless devil haha.

Tomorrow pack out???? What a bunch of clowns. Embarrassing video. I just reported it to youtube.

You guys should do the same.

It was opening day, so what's the hurry? You couldn't back out and shoot it the next day? The goats were right there when you came the next day. Safety? But you let one guy throw the goat over his shoulder and come down that way? Yeah, that's real safe. You made poor hunting decisions, period. At least don't post them on social media.

My only comment to you is this, if you can’t safely shoot and retrieve an animal with all parties involved ie clients/guides and first and foremost animal…
DO NOT SHOOT… go back in the morning and make a play…

That's more easily said than done in some cases. The client makes the decision, not me. I dont get hired to babysit grown men. I get hired to help guys find the animals they have tags for. Believe me, if I could pick every shot or situation that happens, or control the hunters emotions, feelings, decisions made, I'd be a lot less stressed during hunts and alot better at the content I post. I respect your opinion and thank you! Hope you have a successful season in your state!!

Again, I am not the hunter or shooter. I cant speak on their behalf of why they miss. It surprises me alot too. But, again, I appreciate your comments, even your negative ones. Have a great season!!

I definitely try. But some guys are stuck in their ways and hunt how they want, regardless of my opinions. It's easy to judge a situation based on watching some simple video. I suck at capturing the situations I guess. But, feedback like most guys on here gives me something to work on. So I appreciate all critique. Can't get better if I don't have professional opinions and criticism. We could all use a little help here and there!

My thoughts exactly.

I don't think you are taking the role of an "outfitter" serious enough.....

I dont think you truly know anything about "me" to make assumptions.... You see a video, lots of guys talking about how much better they are from behind a keyboard, on a forum, and assume you know anything about my experience, ethics, success or failures. I invite you to share camp with me anytime, on any hunt, and I guarantee your opinion would change. Until then, I'll keep on keeping on and I'll stay motivated and positive. I appreciate your comment as well!!

Hopefully one of you Utah guys can turn Utah fish and game on to this loser. There has to be some standard to be an outfitter and hopefully they can revoke this guys license

Haven't done anything illegal, so go for it. I highly doubt, "Revoke this guys license because he doesn't say the right things in his videos" will constitute a revocation.

I'm done....you don't get it

I'm done....you don't get it
Oh I get it, but opinions of "professional hunters" sitting behind keyboards is what I dont get... Guarantee half the commentators on here have said and done just as dumb of stuff. The argument I am sure, is that they don't film it or post it. That's the difference. I'm not a coward, own up to my mistakes, and don't let men behind keyboards intimidate me one bit. I enjoy what I do, have for a long time. I'll continue to focus on my life while everyone else complains about petty things.

Some people you just can't help
Remind me who is trying to help?? Because all I see are grown men sitting behind there screens posting nothing but negativity. Everyone wants to talk about "ethics", but shouldn't hunters be trying to help other hunters as part of being ethical towards each other? If guys commented and said things like, "Hey man, great hunt but this is where I disagree with certain things.", I'd probably take everyone's comments a little more serious. But, like I've said, I do appreciate everyone's comments in a way, as the passion behind some of the comments is seen and heard, and I appreciate the passion behind some of the fellow hunters on here. Sometimes being humble and being humbled are the best forms of critique one can get from others.

Your videos and ethics are EXACTLY the reason most anti-hunters are so vocal and adamant against hunting. You are an embarrassment and the sad part is you aren’t smart enough to figure that out and make a change.
