A little more time this morning, and a LOT hungrier! Girls were ready too.

Tennessee/Kentucky pepper bacon, eggs, and long cooked grits, with butter and melted cheddar cheese. One of my Dad's favorites; he never liked cheese grits, but loved sharp cheddar melted all over the top!!!

That bacon looks good.

I went on a deer hunt on a ranch near Uvalde, TX. The ranch manager & I were the only ones there, & we did all our own the cooking. One morning we fried up some some the maple-flavored bacon that happened to be in the fridge. It wasn't bad. Have you tried it?

It's funny how some flavors or smells stick with you forever!

Not a huge big fan of maple flavored meats, but some are OK. The Hormel Black Label Maple is by far the best tasting bacon. I would really rather have apple or pecan smoked, instead of hickory also. Just weird, I guess.

Don't care for the maple flavored sausage links or patties at all. Just give me regular spicy sausage! Makes better gravy too.

It was quite a few years ago, so I don't recall the brand. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it, tho.
