Mossback wants a reversal on the trail cam ban!

I agree %100 I’ve been preaching that from the beginning
I used to be more prone to take the stance that so many wildlife laws are simply unenforceable. However, over the years, I've learned that no other community holds their members accountable like sportsmen do... The DWR already relies on us HEAVILY in order to catch and prosecute poachers. I believe this ban will mirror laws like poaching very closely- The vast majority of us will abide by the law, but there will be some who will not. Some of them will get away with it, but many will be caught by the 95% of us who are obeying the law.

My panties aren't in a knot.

Just wish there were more hunters talking about hunting these days instead of wannabes crying all the time.

Do you wonder why outfitters are listened to? Because they are actually hunters, Hossblur. YOU AREN'T.
Incorrect- (Certain) outfitters are "listened to" because they know their business relies on lobbying, which takes money, which they have access to; either of their own resources, or the resources of 'wildlife groups' that share their views and opinions.

Told ya.

Your "good friend" WLH gets listened to because he takes DWR directors bear hunting.

But if your point is Utah is too comfy with the corporate class, yeah, We agree. 100%

Application season is open. Get yourself a Manti GS tag. Come show me a real hunter

Or better yet, in July get yourself a OTC anybull tag. Come hunt the North Slope with me in October. I'm 40 miles from SLC airport, I'll pick you up.

Let's film it. The fellas in camp will LOVE being taught by a true hunter like yourself.

And another thing why can the fish and game still run there cameras year round. That’s bs, if they ban them that should be for everybody. They are not above the law. I guess I need to buddy up with a couple of them guys so they can tell me where the big ones are. You can’t tell me that won’t go on.

Outfitters are for the rich few. Others to consider are those hunters who hunt opening day and on weekend which are the majority of the hunters. They are the ones who have no cameras. They are the ones who should receive majority consideration, but they are all but forgotten. They are the ones who don't know what this blog even is. But mainly lets not forget our Mule Deer. They are the ones hurting. Why are the Outfitters fighting so hard? It is obvious, the hunting will not be as easy. With cameras more big buck will be killed by the rich few.
I think a lot more restrictions should be passed by the legislature on Guide Services. They are ruining hunting for the average joe.

They aren't hunting or selling photos and information.......

Ban outfitters but keep the cams since so few avg joe hunters use them.

Not 100% correct.
The fact that you call today's killing techniques "hunting" is why we are in this spot in the first place

Fish and game aren't using cameras for the same purpose as guides and hunters which is to locate and kill large animals. I think cameras would be a legitimate tool for the enforcement of game laws.

put a complete ban on guides and salaried employees of non-profit wildlife groups. When a person is making money from hunting then their loyalties will always choose the wallet over the wildlife.

Yes.....and as a conservation tool.
They use cameras to monitor migrations and movements through corridors.

Yup they do and they also use them to tell there buddies. You cant tell me some don’t do that. I better not see one after july cause I don’t care who’s they are they are going to get the hammer.

Even If They Have The Initials DM on Them?:D

I wouldn’t call them hunters, they have got killing trophies down to a science so it would be more fitting to call them killers.

On another note I know of a outfitter (D.C outfitters) that completely depend on trail cams to kill the biggest bulls on the mountain during the early season, they put trail cams on basically every tree in a area to pattern their target bulls and they figure out the perfect spot to be at the right time, to say the least there might be a few more four hundos hiding around boulder mountain the future.

Well did you honestly help the matter with this post? Holy shite . You are dumber than a box full of Utards.!!

Now that us conservationists on this site got trail cams ban, how do we get rifles banned? If I see a rifle hunter after the ban goes in place I'm gonna flatten their tires so they can't get out of Burger Kings parking lot!

I just heard from a good source that the wildlife board has called a special meeting on March 9th to rediscuss the trail camera ban. Are you sucking kidding me. Do them azz wipe outfitters have that much clout. I’m real pissed now.

Yeah I herd the same thing. I just didn’t know the date yet.

The board have received a-lot of hate emails.
they are not happy at all.

But you bet Wade Heaton/the lemon boys and Doyle they are probably just laughing there AZZ off right now.

I wouldn’t worry about it it’s all good. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t flat out ban cameras like Arizona.
but who knows what they have up there sleeves

If people don't show up to this meeting in force to voice their opposition to having trail cameras during hunting season then it will surely be reversed.

Also, email every board member. Multiple times.
E-mail the Director, Stacy coons or Anyone that will listen.

Bitching on MM will do absolutely nothing.

Don't email Staci. She doesn't have any power or say. It's a done deal via statute on her side.

Email the board.

Also. Get with your legislator. The state doesn't recognize RAC/WB as chances to comment. The legislature can change that. Should change that

I'll Re-Post This because Nobody Answered Me!

So?

Can Somebody Tell Me?

WTF Good are The RAC's & The WB?

The State has rules on open comment periods regarding laws/regs.

The legislature doesn't recognize the RAC/WB as
"Official" comment periods.

This one isn't on the DWR, is on Utah legislature.

Fin thing is how all the pro cam guys SCREAMED when Casey Snider introduced legislation on cams, that wildlife shouldn't be controlled via legislature.

Now here is Doyle and company, trying to circumvent the law, via legislative grey areas.

It's almost like they don't have principles

If they un-ban them, you guys can still smash them, right?:censored:

Double edged sword.

If they unban them, just takes 10 emails to reopen the process, again.

Last I checked, abandoned property is just litter.

They should be picked up, and hauled off, don't make that Indian cry(flatbrims have zero clue on that one)

I think yall have completely missed my point. Now yall want to argue over guys that use a trail camera are hunting or not.

IT'S CLOSER TO HUNTING THAN THE MAJORITY OF CRAP THAT GOES ON HERE.

Many of the guys on these forums do not contribute one little bit to these forums with actual hunting content. NOT ONE LITTLE BIT.

That doesn't bother you more than a damn trail camera????? It sure bothers me that guys who as far as we know may actually be anti-hunters come on here and cause conflicts between sportsman and constantly promote "banning" this or that?

Do you actually think a stupid camera on a tree is a big problem to big game hunting the west??????????

THE FRICKING BUILDING IS ON FIRE AND YALL ARE ARGUING ABOUT THE DAMN TV RECEPTION!

You live in Texas, and hunt "the west" via guide. Not one of person in here would ask you about "hunting" when we can just save our breath and ask the guide leading you around.

Did you get your app in so you can teach me?

Manti/San Rafael

Quit playing make believe. You are exactly one of the people I am talking about.

tristate, I like you, but that being said, yes a stupid camera on a tree is a big problem. maybe Not in Texas but in utah oh yes it is. You know how utards take things way overboard. Especially the (big Three) outfitters. A guy can’t even piss in the woods without getting his picture taken.

Horsecorn, if the deer were managed perfectly and the mortality rat for tags was %100, why would it matter what method people use to hunt?

I'm saying that decades of mismanagement of wildlife by the state has put the hunters in a situation where we feel we have to argue amongst ourselves and ban each other to make our hunts a success.

Come on son.

If your gonna let your azz write checks, best be able to back them.

Manti/ San Rafael. Last week of September.

Or North Slope, first week of October.

This non hunter will be there. Your invited to come show me how it's done.

Now I know, your feverishly googling

"North Slope, Utah, Elk Lodges".

I'll help you out. There ain't none. Ain't no Lodges, ain't no Michelin rated chefs. Ain't many guides either, seeing as how its one of, if not the hardest elk unit in the state.

So, come on, "boy" stop talking, start acting.

I look forward to the lesson

Do you have a link to the contact info for the WB members? Somewhere we can find the email addresses and phone numbers to contact these people? Or the correct people to contact to voice support for the decision to ban cameras during season?

Horsecorn, if the deer were managed perfectly and the mortality rat for tags was %100, why would it matter what method people use to hunt?

Hunting AINT KILLING genius.

Hunting is THE PURSUIT of animals.

Killing is what meat processors do.

That's how STUPID your point is.

You buy a HUNTING license. Not a KILLING license.

Only guys like you who pay outfitters to hold their hands, look at "success" %.

Hunters look for an opportunity to match THEIR SKILL(no stealth cams) against an animal. FREE RANGE. Not fenced in. Not baited up.

I realize you live in Houston, so the concept of pursuit is foreign.

I got sheep that will need to be processed before you and I go hunt, you can't coax them in with grain, and shoot them. 100% success rate.

Or, as you texas guys call it, "hunting"

So why do you care if the outfitters are out there killing deer and using cameras.

Don't throw all of us Texans in his boat.

You tell me who the cameras benefit the most. The state gives 600 plus conservation tags every year and every year every outfitters get numerous tags. Each outfitter has 600 plus cameras out for 120 days so they can get pics of the biggest animals. Then they send the pics to their clients and the price goes up. Then you have these flat brimmers that put up cameras to Hopefully get a picture of a big buck or bull so that can sell the wherabouts to the big three that will pay them big money for it. Then us average joe blows will only get a tag every 15 years if we are lucky. So maybe we only put cameras up when we draw a tag. It’s pretty damn hard to compete with that. So please tell me who the camera ban hurts. Isn’t it obvious. BAN THEM YEAR ROUND.

Horsecorn, if the deer were managed perfectly and the mortality rat for tags was %100, why would it matter what method people use to hunt?
The method does matter. If that’s the case why don’t they just let us use spotlights and helicopters. I know that works too so what the hell.

They didn't write those laws to protect wildlife herds. They write those laws for 2 reasons. Public safety and making sure you fail when they issue more tags than they have animals to kill.

600 is about 1/4th of them....

The average joe blow outweighs the outfitters.

I'm not saying at all the outfitters don't play a factor in this but, there is more animals harvested on average hunters than guides.

It's just the quality is likely to be better with an outfitter.

The season dates need to be for everyone.

Sounds to me that we should just forget the trail cam ban and we should just ban outfitting!
But that would be a absolute pipe dream and the Texans wouldn’t be able to spend 10k to kill a buck or bull on a 30k tag they bought.

No.

I'm just talking to a moron.

I'll talk slower and use smaller words.

When you pay someone to hold your hand, you expect something for that money.

That's why you expect to KILL something.

Same as when you pay for your truck, or your girlfriend.

Hunters pay for the chance to kill.

You pay for the kill.

Which is why YOU think WLH is your good friend, and WLH thinks your a trigger puller.

I care because I don't want Utah to become texas.

As to whether YOU think I'm a hunter or not, your definition is based on the texas model.

So YUP. To a high fence hunting, corn feeding, lodge renting, outfitter paying guy like yourself, guys like me who do none of those, are confusing I'm sure.

See you in Oct.

You literally wasted your time posting nothing but lies.

I DON'T THINK YOU'RE A HUNTER BECAUSE ALL YOU DO IS CRY ON HERE LIKE A STOMPED PUPPY. You don't actually ever contribute to hunting conversations.

Hey genius.

You should go look at the title of this thread.

Its about a trail cam ban.

That is the topic, at least for 99.9% of us.

Unfortunately, as always. Some dude from Houston, feels it his place to comment on Utah regs.

No one cares what your opinion is, your not a citizen of the state.

A real hunter from another state has more business commenting on this topic than some no hunting fake internet baby living in Utah

Not sure how a non res from Texas of all places could possibly think that they have a say in this matter, there’s a reason why they give more tags to res than non res, we are the ones spending the most amount of time in the field.

Maybe.

But a client for an outfitter like yourself, isn't a hunter, just a trigger puller.

A guided trigger puller is more hunter than someone who doesn't do anything more than whine on the internet.

Face it Hossblur. You aren't a hunter. In fact you are probably an anti-hunter.

Go back and read, Luke. I haven't chosen a side in this argument.

I think the argument is stupid. Especially when someone that doesn't even contribute hunting content here is pushing the thread.

If you’ve got that kind of mentality you might as well quit public land and stick to high fence hold your hand type hunts, possibly hunts designated for special needs cause that’s exactly what you are:ROFLMAO:

Ya, still ain't showing you his face. But that 11yr old will hunt your soft city boy azz into the ground every day of the week, and twice on Sunday.

So. Where are you? Houston?

Tri.

Come on son, what'd you do, say stupid crap you can't back, YET AGAIN?

BEEN 17 MIN.

How long does it take for you to show this non hunter where you are?

It's almost as if, your full of chit.

Don't tell me your sitting in Houston running your mouth

I'll tell you what

I'll send pics tomorrow morning. Tomorrow evening. Sunday morning, Sunday evening.

Timestamped.

You do the same. Let's see who is sitting in the city, and who the hunter is

Oh Tri.........

Like always, you look stupid son.

I realize that's everyday, but still

I'm at the Houston Safari hunting show.?????

I've already posted 2 actual hunting threads this week. That's 2 more than you have ever posted here.

Taking a pic of somebody's pasture from the highway isn't going to make you a hunter, boy.

The Houston safari show, IN HOUSTON.

So your in the city, at a show full of outfitters.

ITS ALMOST AS IF EVERYTHING I SAID ABOUT YOU, IS TRUE.

Real hunters, HUNT.

You trigger pullers book hunts.

That "pasture" is the rainbow unit of Harold Crane.

Those of us that hunt, know where that is

You safari show fellers, ask your outfitter.

What is more hilarious. You at an outfitter show.

You at an outfitter show claiming your a hunter(I'm sure the outfitters are real impressed)

Oh Tri.

Only YOU?????

Only you?????

Don't worry son

Us non hunters will close out goose season, HUNTING

You hang out with the outfitters.

Show them your coyotes. I'm sure they will be impressed

????????????????

Actually you didn't say anything about me at a show.

I've never hidden the fact that I own a taxidermy business and YES I DO SHOWS TO ADVERTISE.

And I do a lot more hunting than you.

Keep dreaming boy. You aren't a hunter. Just some antihunter masquerading as one.

Those trail cameras must really be screwing up the goose hunting.?

No one pays what you do to goose hunt.

Your taxidermy is real nice, no chit.

We, me, that 11yr old, and his 16 yr old brother, started chasing deer in Aug.

It's Feb.

We didn't hunt, the week after swans got shut down.

Other than that, we have hunted EVERY WEEK from mid Aug, to today

Goose hunt closes Sunday.

We might take a break, but my 11 yr old bought himself a Ruger Predator .223, and thinks he's a coyote hunter.

I don't live in Houston. If I want to hunt, ducks/geese are 5min from the house.

It's hilarious that you think you post 3pics of you standing next to a pile of coyotes, and that makes you and I, or any of us Utah guys equal.

Tomorrow I'll be up at 5, in the swamp (see pasture off side of road) chasing geese. While your sitting in an expo, I'll be hunting.

Same Sunday.

Hunting to US is a lifestyle.

It's not a vacation. It's not a booked schedule..

I don't post pics of my hunting partners because one is 11, the other is 16.

And quite frankly, I don't need to.

Hunting isn't a big dick contest, to me.

It's a lifestyle.

A feller like you, who lives in Houston, hunts via outfitter. Ain't enough of a man, to hang with my 16 yr old.

Let alone his old man, and I ain't 1/2 what I used to be.

But trust me, or not

At 48, with 32 years of sheetrock on this poor old body, I'll bury you.

Not because I'm founder, or Jake, or any of the hard core guys in here.

But because this is a lifestyle. And YOU live in Houston.

We ain't the same.

Stick to your real talent, your taxidermy is on point.

Go bark up some tree that you can handle

This thread isn’t about who’s the Better hunter so you two need to take it outSide. It all boils down to the big three having a big advantage with their thousand plus cameras out all over the state. you know it, and I know it. that’s why they are whining about the ban. I wish we could follow Arizona’s lead on this.

No one pays what you do to goose hunt.

But because this is a lifestyle. And YOU live in Houston.

We ain't the same.

Stick to your real talent, your taxidermy is on point.

Go bark up some tree that you can handle

You aren't a hunter.

Horsecorn, I'm not worried about who is a bigger or better hunter. Hossblur is a troll that isn't a hunter at all.

Lmao......look who pops in, and with another manufactured brain fart!???
It's ok Slam don't get mad, the roads on that CWMU are rough. You gotta be tough to handle all that jostling around, then to step out of the pickup to glass is brutal! Put the hunt back in your hunting style Slam! Buy a trail camera, they may help you get out of the truck.

This thread isn’t about who’s the Better hunter so you two need to take it outSide. It all boils down to the big three having a big advantage with their thousand plus cameras out all over the state. you know it, and I know it. that’s why they are whining about the ban. I wish we could follow Arizona’s lead on this.
One of us, has paid one of the big three to take us hunting.

Hint, he lives in Houston ?
