Only ever hunted Pine Valley for mule deer in the last 5-6 years as I live in St. George. Not had success. I had a neighbor encourage me last fall to put in for San Juan Abajo Mtns as he's familiar with the area and offered to help. He ended up moving away recently. I've been trying frantically...

That's such a hard thing for me to recognize. I've always been taught to get away from people as much as possible. It makes sense...if there are deer, there are going to be lots of people. I just need to get that through my thick head

Went up 2 weeks ago. Hard to compete with people that live up there, know the area...and that do this "professionally" (with radios, lots of eyes, video equipment, and a following)

I can share all the sunrise and sunset pics I took hunting about 30 days this year. That's all I've got to show for my time out. The bucks ghosted me :(

I appreciate the input. Are these areas I should expect to hike a couple hours to get to a good location? Just trying to make plans on how to tackle this if I can make it up. Thinking maybe end of next week and/or around Thanksgiving as it looks like we may be headed up that way for the holiday.
