Thanks for the replies. Is the reason for the tape to seal the barrel from moisture or to keep water from entering? Or maybe a little bit of both? You can shoot right through the tape with no accuracy issues?

Do you fire a primer to dry the breech plug before your first shot for the day? Do you notice your first for the day is off left or right?

Are you running a dry patch between shots like the manual suggests?

Are you using a muzzle brake? I was using the anarchy brake but I was finding pieces of the ELR skirt. I bought the arrowhead one but haven’t tried it. I don’t want to add any variables this close to my hunt.

That’s my fear. Are you talking about the arrowhead breech plug kit?
