Nice man! Pop a Razorback Offroad rack on that thing and you'll be dialed for fall!

With your budget and intended purpose I'd look at a new 4 seat Commander 700 - right about 18k I think. Bigger more useable bed than the competitors (haul bigger elk), plenty of power for hunting and "lite" recreational activity - not a dune ripper. I've got the 2-seat 700 and it rips with 2...

'Nother Play Thread - Which one...

...got shot? Snowed in - bored silly. Posted my deer season vid compilation elsewhere and had couple messages asking if I/we shot any of them - "you ever shoot anything or what?"" Fair question - One of the deer in this video didn't make it to the end of the day...which one? I'm sure...

    Hunting Field Photos

I'm a bit of a photo/video nerd, I take shiz ton of photos/vids and usually throw together a little compilation vid of both stills and vid clips for the season...then I post 'em to a forum to bore the bejeezuz out of anyone foolish enough to click on 'em - somewhat similar to the old days of...

    Southeast Idaho winter kill

My observation as well - it seems like elk faired better than the deer. I'm certain I saw more than I usually do on my place throughout the course of spring/summer and well into fall - they usually get pretty scarce with onset of rifle elk seasons. Interesting, to me and others it seemed...

    Southeast Idaho winter kill

I hunker down on my own property for the SEI deer hunt. Numbers seemed down for sure all thru spring and summer. I always have a pretty good number of deer on the place, video the shiz out of stuff and compile it at end of season. We tried hard to get my buddy's daughter on a cool little buck...

    Deer Population Unit 31

The biggest problem I have with it going down the way you, and others, are stating is simply the way the LAP tags are distributed - a landowner that drew an LAP hunt does not have an actual tag to just hand over to someone and say here ya' go, go shoot an elk. The way it would have to go down...

    Deer Population Unit 31

Just so I am clear, let me go thru this transaction as it seems you are stating it goes down: Landowner: "that'll be $7000 for a trespass fee to my land" Hunter: "sounds good, here you go" Landowner: "thank you, oh, by the way, here's your elk tag" Is that what you are saying is going on...

    Deer Population Unit 31

There is absolutely no legal financial windfall with a LAP tag. There absolutely could be bad apples that are somehow manipulating the system to their financial gain...I personally don't know any landowner that does and what I'm hearing here sounds more like innuendo and urban legend than fact...

    Deer Population Unit 31

I'm kinda goofin' with ya' because I know exactly how the Landowner Appreciation Program (LAP) and the corresponding draws work. Since this thread is Unit 31 (I'm too lazy to look up where Unit 31 actually is) I can tell you that for 2023 in Unit 31 there were 39 total landowner tags available...
