WVHUNTER, I feel your pain...seem to be staying just behind what it takes to draw your target unit...and getting older every day. My plan was to dump points on a good private land hunt, then come back in three years for a General tag. Good luck in 38!

The Big Horns would be a good tag, but I haven't archery hunted in over 20 years. Unit 38 is one of the other units I looking into for a rifle tag.

I appreciate everyone's input. I've learned a lot more about unit 6 during conversations with members and outfitters. I had no idea that private land in unit 6 can be hunted on a General tag. I don't like the idea of burning 9 points on a General tag, so I'm looking into some other units...

Thank you for the replies. The possibility of snow is a concern for us mainly because I hear they shut down some of the roads in the area. The biggest concern we have is other hunters. I think we'll look for private access in a unit 6, 34 or 122.

Thanks for the reply. Ross seems to have a great reputation. From what I can find, it seems like unit 38 is much better for an archery hunt than a rifle hunt. I found a lot of information on the unit, but not much about the rifle season there.
