    Serious Buchering Questions

Don't know why you'd need a saw buddy? I guess if you want bone-in cuts? otherwise, just take quarters off, remove backstraps, filets, neck meat, flank and brisket (a decently long flat edged knife works well for this)...let cool, wrap in tarp at the front or very back end of your truck bed...

Long range sure has changed the game

Its a done deal man, way too late to get back to the good ol days... the future is obviously further advancement of tech, stricter regulation of such, and harder to procure tags...nevermind the ego trip so many people are on these days, frikken guys and gals will seemingly happily sail across...

    Bighorn and Barbary Success!!

Wicked ram 284, I remember seeing the pics when you killed him...all them rings add up to a lot more than inches in my book anyway, think he's still holding strong as the oldest hunter killed ram ever taken in our state...bad ass Yeah Phil, it all depends on who you get...had the Dept be real...

    Bighorn and Barbary Success!!

LAST EDITED ON Mar-17-17 AT 06:56PM (MST)[p]Shucks man, sounds like you guys checked ram in at Cruces no? It seems every time we've taken one in there, it was measured by a guy who'd never laid hands on one of the dang things :) I think the aging discrepancy has to do with whomever did the...

    Bighorn and Barbary Success!!

^you guys, degree of curl has no direct correlation to size/score...rams come in all shapes and sizes, it's all about proportion no The alpine herds in our state are notorious for producing old, broomed rams (like NMhunter's example above) with a very tight, close curl, and subsequently not as...

    Bighorn and Barbary Success!!

^well ok... gonna have to disagree on the "3 years broomed" assessment, ram has barely busted his lamb tips off, but whatever Sorry to hear about the decline in age class and size on the rancho, but they have been hammering em pretty hard lately Anyway, don't take it the wrong way, I'm sure...

Seeking Advice About Parker ML Bullets

^I assume youre talking about the Hydracon? I think we talked about this before no? Anyway, I've got a pile of em sitting at home, but haven't had time to get a good MZ range session in...was pretty sure would draw in CO but didn't, so it hasn't been a huge priority Hoping to have the chance...

^THROUGH one shoulder? or behind? Hit any bones on the way in? They work great on soft tissue and light boned beasts, have killed a decent muley and a good antelope with the sst...just would shy away when there exists the possibily of encountering heavy bone Much better choices out there
