    What is your week

Let’s say you have 5-7 days to hunt in any location in any state, when are you picking? Sitting wallows in the early season heat, chasing bugles in later September, glassing up some late season survivors, etc. Why do you prefer that time vs any other time?

    Bridger Teton Grizz

Appreciate your experience. I think I’m just so used to hunting deer in small eastern wood lots where blowing deer out first thing in the morning can really impact how the morning hunt goes that I just figure being stealthy is a requirement. But, out west when you are just trying to get to a...

    Bridger Teton Grizz

Appreciate the responses everyone. As some of you could tell, this will be my first hunt in bear country so just want to make sure I’m as knowledgeable as possible, and like I mentioned, I couldn’t really find any info on whether or not hunt plans are impacted at all in the vicinity of bears...

    Bridger Teton Grizz

Quick question for those who have lived/ hunted in grizz country. I know the basic rules for coexisting with bears as far as food storage, game cleaning, general awareness, etc. However, one thing I haven’t seen discussed is how to balance early morning/late evening hiking to glassing points and...

    Wyoming NR Elk Draw

Excited to see I also drew General this year. Thankful I’ve been in prep mode for awhile now because the season will be here before I know it.

Haha, you are absolutely right. Think I fat fingered it twice in my post. I did get the 4x5 written the first time though haha.

    Unit 90

Alright, it’s time for the obligatory post-hunt recap. WARNING: it’s a pretty short hunting story. First, I want to thank the contributors to this thread as well as the people who PM’d me and were willing to discuss their experience in the unit and provide some general deer tips to a novice...

    Unit 90

Appreciate the advise. I put a few back now and then but not planning on taking anything with me this go around. Being limited to hanging out at/sleeping in my vehicle doesn’t really sound like my kind of party haha. Definitely something to keep in mind for future hunts that I hope I can share...

Thanks for the tip. You’re right, I’ll be coming from about 2,000 ft elevation so it’ll be a bit of an adjustment but I don’t anticipate struggling too much with it. I was out in SW CO for a mule deer hunt back in 2020 and most of our hunting was right in the 6,500 - 7,500 ft range if I recall...

Good tips. That’s another nice thing about driving out on Friday and through the weekend…hopefully avoid construction work, rush hour, etc. I think the drive out will definitely be easier than the drive back since I’ll spend half my time daydreaming about the hunt. I’ll definitely need to try...

Good call, I’ll definitely have to remember that. I’ve never listened to too many podcasts but this would definitely be a good opportunity to check them out.

Thank you! Sounds like you had a good trip even if you both didn’t fill tags. That sounds like exactly what I’m looking/hoping for with this hunt…the ability to see some animals and hopefully connect with a good buck.
