Thanks everyone! It wasn't going to take a ton of encouragement to make me go for it. At this point I just need to check a few things out at work Monday but am 95% confident I'll take the tag and be headed west in a couple weeks.

We drew tags in Florida this last year and had a lot of fun. Shot them with bow/crossbow. If you draw a license in Florida, you get two kill tags.

I had this issue in the past even with magnum primers.. Clean your breech plug. Find the correct size drill bit and put it in by hand then a torch tip cleaner for the smaller hole.

Congrats to your son. I really enjoyed reading your updates and hope that I can have a similar experience if my kids are able to draw in a few years.

Lightfields are great but for elk would be looking at a copper slug- I believe federal and Winchester are both making them.

That is awesome! Nothing like getting the kids out there at a young age.
