    Euro before mounting

Have a few shoulder mounts but I'll always be a euro slut... Geeked out and even started making my own replicas (last two pics).

I'd say better than the southern end. Still going to be a tall order to find a mature animal though. I purposely did not reference X12 because I don't spend much time up there. However, back in July of last year I did see a bachelor group of 14. Haven't seen that many bucks running together in...

I will agree with ya on having better habitat back then. However, logging and encroachment are not really part of the problem on the east side. I would say our summer ranges are in pretty good shape still.

Interesting thoughts Yalo. I agree with most of it. As you mentioned, at this point the best option would be shutting the hunt down. How long? At least 2-3 years and re-evaluate. However, we all know in this ridiculous state there’s a chance that it will never open back up. Anyone that's seen...

    G3-My Hunt

Thanks for giving us a great write Steve. Even the part where you said "deer love Chai"... I might have to try that. Glad you got to enjoy the Goodale experience at your own pace and kill a nice buck in the process. Very disappointing that you could only find one 4 point the entire trip...

Well chit. Thanks for filling me in. I just assumed it was still the brain & spinal cord only. I've always removed just that, and have never been hassled for it, nor heard of anyone else in recent years. I guess I'll continue to be an outlaw...

Who says the meat and soft tissue have to removed? I'm talking about the brain. There are many styles of picks that work well to accomplish by hand. Hell you can even do it with a screwdriver. If you have high pressure air or water you can blow them out the back of the skull (foramen magnum)...

A necessity? Sounds like a lot of unnecessary work. Most guys should be able to get the brains out of any animal in a short amount of time. Even faster if there's compressed air available (gas/service station).

Haha. To each his own right? I knew that comparison wasn't one size fits all . Let's try something like this; Guys that take their skulls to taxi's that use beetles or maceration probably enjoy a good 12 year bourbon or scotch... neat. Guys that take their skulls to power washer dudes...

    Quick Euro

I don't know if Whitebone started it but since the power washer method burst on scene there has been quite the surge of novices claiming to be pros. And with that, many mediocre skull jobs. For me, the second I see all the nose bones/turbinates blown out I get turned off. I guess it all...
