The amount of area in that tag is huge , head out of eureka and keep driving till you find a nice camp spot and go from there. There are plenty of goats around in no specific place . You should find enough to keep you busy. Good luck

FYI anyone buying this set up, they say that the action is a Howa but the rem 700 20 moa rail will fit . This is false info, the rail for the short or long action doesn't match up .

I'd rather not at this point but have gotten some advice on the Idaho forum. 20 moa rail , med rings should help clear the barrel with 50mm objective , but I will need some sort of cheek riser. They make some slide over ones that I'll look at , or they make a bolt on adjustable riser as well.

All the bases I have tried have been 2 piece , It sounds like I should try the same rings I have with a 20 moa rail? Or will I need to get higher rings and a cheek rest?

Not trying to be mean,just an idea though . Depending on his age you may want to consider another unit, I know it's hard turning in a tag but there are other units that may fit his capability a little better.
