Unit 40 bear tag 3rd season

Thank you. Yes I'm aware of the private land and have secured some access. Like I stated don't know anything, zero, zilch about hunting bears. My main focus will be elk. But if a bear presents itself and I'm not going to screw up my elk hunt I would take a bear. My main questions is with the...

Unit 40 bear tag 3rd season

As title says, am NR and have never hunted bear but would take one if I run across while elk hunting. Are they or should they still be around in a couple weeks. NOT ASKING FOR YOUR BEAR HONEY HOLE IN UNIT 40. Thanks to the few that will actually help.

    Unit 40 Elk

I'm headed there for 3rd rifle. Just seeing if anyone has been there and how the elk are looking? Saw lots of moisture so hoping for some above average horns this year, after using 19 NR pp. Thanks

4th Season Muleys in GMU 29

I'm by no means a muley expert, in fact far from it. Hunted 67 last year during 4th, you can see my post. Everyone told me to hunt the lower elevation, that's where all the deer will be after snow pushes them out of high country. Was true saw tons of bucks lower, just nothing worth shooting...

    2018 Unit 67 4th seaon buck

LAST EDITED ON May-09-19 AT 09:25AM (MST)[p]Finally got him back from the taxidermist. He scored him at 198 7/8. His mass did not shrink even after not seeing the horns since last November. Definitely a buck of a lifetime for this "LUCKY" flatfoot Texas boy. Thanks to all that offered and gave...

    GMU 67

I hunted 4th season last year. Didn't have a clue what I was doing never had hunted mule deer before. Guess I just got lucky. But I saw at least 20 bucks that were over 160". And that was driving around scouting. but to your point I did see LOTS of young bucks.

    Gunnison mule deer rut

RE: Gunnison mule deer rut For what it's worth. I hunted 67 4th season last year. Got there fri Nov 9th end of 3rd. Snowed good Sunday. Saw lots of bucks while scouting. To me looked like younger bucks rutting end of 3rd. Day before 4th started any group of does I found had 1 or several bucks...

No big bucks in 67 most I saw were just average! Best average one I could find. Saw lots of bucks though. You can take your pick.
