Good luck Dan I really hope you draw a tag this year. If you don't maybe some young Junior hunter could use your help on the Kaibab. I can't think of anything more rewarding than sharing your many years of wisdom and knowledge with some young hunter. Whether its your own tag or someone else's...
Yeah I see there's a good amount of private land up in the Summer range and I'm sure with all the OTC elk hunters the bucks get pushed onto the private property. Thanks for the info I'll keep that in mind.
Anyone else going Archery hunting in 21 this year? Never been to the unit and had planned an early scouting trip but had knee surgery so gonna wait and scout for 2 to 3 days right before the season opens. I'll be hunting deer and could potentially help another deer hunter or an elk hunter. I do...
Not a giant just a 7 year old 150" ram but I did it solo with my bow. Average rams in 212 are 150 to 160 and occasionally a ram over 160 gets taken out of there.
The past 5 years I could've drawn the Kaibab Archery tag and I kept drawing other tags so I would swing for the fences and apply for a strip tag while I continued to build points. This year I drew a good archery tag in Colorado so I was on the fence about the Kaibab tag again. I decided I would...
Yeah me either. Year before that it took 9 so it point creeped 2 points last year and it probably jumped 2 to 3 points again this year. Reduced tag numbers and great moisture year means more point creep. I’d rather keep the tag numbers down even if I don’t draw so out herds can come back.
Congrats no matter which tag you got their both awesome tags. 3A has been taking more points than 12A but you could've drawn a random tag. I have 12 points and am still in denial that my card hasn't been hit for a 12AB archery tag. When did your card get hit?
