I think antler growth was well above average. More 7 points, long beams and big backs ends than most years.

I have a Montbell altiplano that might be the best puffy on the market in terms of min weight and max warmth. It's honestly too warm for anything I do so I rarely use it and default to my Kuiu super down. Not sure it would be fire resistant though but at least another quality brand worth...

Fantasic! Open sites are indeed tough. I had a NV muzzle tag last year; many times I thought to myself I would be better off just carrying my bow. Took that one down to the end as well.

I'm in the same boat. I've used Rage for about as long as I can remember and not a single negative experience but got itchy to try something new. I did ordered some Sevr 2.0s and they seem solid in hand. Ferrule is longer than the Rage but I'm excited to try them out.

That 22S muzzle hunt is peak rut and could be really fun. Not sure it's a slam dunk for a 350"+ though. Have helped a buddy's mother on the early rifle in 22N and found some solid bulls. You might also consider Units 1 & 27.

While trying to pick up an archery deer tag right before opener if I spent .2 seconds reading what the tag was before clicking "add to cart" it was gone every time. Had to revert to just clicking as fast as I could, make payment and hope it was something interesting. Ended up with a 10s tag...

I had a muzzle in this unit here this year. Steal, cheat and lie your way into more than a couple days, you'll want all the time you can get. Best of luck!

I've wondered if they would make that change. It always seemed odd that resident tags go to non-residents.

Atascosa is tough but a fun hunt. Be sure to bring a bike. Will save you hours and hours of time getting around.
