Heritage arms outside of Loma is a great Gunsmith

I heard that the Bears in 61 had a big winter kill. Biologist told a friend of mine they suffocated in the dens because of the snow depth. Doesn't sound right to me but I am no expert.

When clients show up with capes and hides it is amazing how fast the yellow jackets show up. I always have a can of flying insect repellent close by and it seems to work very well. Of coarse you wouldn't want that on the meat.

Bean I use to hunt Leon every year. Back in the late 70's it would take 3 hrs to go from Vega to ranger creek. Chains on all 4 on our Bronco. After the mid 80's they improved the road for gas exploration and I could make the trip pulling atv's or my camper in like an hour. Very few hunters up...

When were these first introduced and where? I have never heard of any as I grew up in the Rifle Colorado area in the 60's and I know a lot of the locals that shot what is now considered huge to be just thrown in a pile.

Not so sure about that. If the antler was fully developed (no longer growing) it most likely wont effect growth going forward.

Things to consider, if you shoot a bear you have 5 business days to get it inspected. If it happens to be a weekend you will need to get it some place where it can be cooled, (a trip to town, then another trip to take it to the cpw, unless you are lucky enough to have a warden check it in the...
