Why is that exactly? I understand outfitter 's typically kill the majority of the better animals. With a unit that's over 80% public, they don't control much of land. Are most the elk on private?

Thanks for the info, I was kinda thinking that last time I was up there. I spent most my time in 47, seems more suitable for early season elk and archery hunting.

Got lucky and drew the 46 archery elk tag. I have been up to the unit a couple days looking. It's not typical elk habits and i've heard the elk are pockety through the unit. Any help with places to start would help. Thanks in advance.
