Summer Bear

Being stuck at home has me more excited than usual for hunting season, and luckily for me I get to start a little earlier this year. Drew a Utah summer bear tag after 11 years. I’m excited to start packing bait and checking cameras in May.

What’s everyone’s favorite bear bait? And what are you on the lookout for when making a bait station?

Get some boar masters bait. Stuff works well, mix it with whatever else you bait with.

I used Popcorn, dog food, sweet feed(horse feed), and Cracked corn.
I mixed maple syrup, bacon grease and fryer oils in with them. I also got some Anus oil from the bakery section, would use it as a cover sent and also put it on rags and hang in the trees around the bait to help get the sent out to attract in the bears.

Lol, just chuckling over the typo. Last year elk hunting in Utah, I came across a bait site with nasty dirty clothes hanging all over the place. I've never baited bears, so at first I thought I was in some weird cult shrine and was watching for sacrificed virgins.

Sweet, thanks for the ideas. I just picked up some of that triple threat powder, sounded interesting.

Anybody have any success pouring a "Bear Sucker" recipe into a stump or something similiar? I can't put it in a metal container according to the regulations.

I've made several suckers. I used an empty Quaker oats container. Its cardboard but strong enough to hold up until the sucker hardens up. then you can peel it off.
The recipe I have is just enough to fill it up.
I put a 1/2" nylon rope in when im pouring to tie it to a tree.
