killed in 1868....and it makes all time B&C

It's actually a 5x7...but the 2 extras are below the fourths so they are deducted...

Homer, you post some serious chi on this site most of the time, but that is one impressive 5x5 regardless of what they call it. I was thinking 245 or so and to be 310 as a 5x5 makes it a true monster !!!

Does anyone know the story behind it ???

Either way that's what rosey dreams are made of :)

Cheers, Pete

i’ll post all I have on it. I just did the official measuring and was shocked.....it has to be the biggest roosevelt 5x5 of all time....I see a couple 5x7’s that score better...but I would bet those were normal and crown points....theses two extras were below the 4ths and are deducts.....pretty sure after I send the entry package to B&C they will do a little google searching....I hope they accept it....

what does "all time B&C" mean? I've got a 383" Roosevelt i took in Washington years ago. i never have anything officially scored so it may be +/- a bit. where would he be "all time" i wonder

well......at 383 it would place about 6th all time....

hmm... i may have to find one of those sportsman shows to enter him in. could be a prize in it for me. hes been hanging n the wall for a while and that was a green measurement so i'm sure hes shrank some. straight 6x6 too. almost perfectly symmetrical. hell of a bull

buddy of mine killed a 416 in the same drainage a year or so after. rack got stolen. about the ugliest non typical elk i've ever seen but man was he huge

post a picture...that's one hell of a drainage....that 416 would have been the worlds record by alot....till the last year or so with a new WR of 419-6/8

scroll down and read the roosevelt's boundaries....since yours is so typical....it would be hard to say it is Roosevelt..most likely is......but the one with the nasty tops is classic roosevelt....read those boundaries and let us know. If it is outside the zone that certainly doesn't mean they are not roosevelt's it just means they are not enterable as roseys.....sadly

deer can be DNA'd to classify....elk can't

Roosevelt's are the biggest bodied....and that body looks....BIG

They were both outside that boundary but basically at the western base of Mount Rainier. There not Rockies by any means. If it’s as the crow flys probably 50 miles east of the boundary. I don’t know if B&C has a “cascade Roosevelt “ But that’s what I’ve always understood them to be. And yeah they both had huge bodies. As you can tell I’m not much for pics and didn’t get any field pics of mine.

damn......those are great.....

what is the story on the theft??

well dude was so proud of his elk he drove around with the rack in his pickup for like a week (small town) decided to leave it there while he went into the bar for a drink ( and likely more bragging) see what that got him..,

Those are Kapowsin bulls aren't they? There is a northwest record book that recognizes cascade Roosevelts as a separate category but Boone and Crockett they would have to be scored as Rockies as they are east of I-5.. Dandy bulls no doubt but definitely have rocky genes.. Your typical is a beauty congrats..
