Hey fellas,
I just pulled this tag with 4 points. Lol I knew ndow was going to do it to me. It's been 4 long years since I've hunted and I was desperate. I haven't bow hunted in 16 years. ? I have a decent set up and I think I can give myself a chance if I can find some willing participants. I've actually never hunted this unit and early research looks daunting. I thought there was a bunch of water in this area but it looks like most of that Stillwater area is restricted. I was thinking of the following areas so far. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. Thanks ?

1. Stillwater area north of division road
2. Carson Lake area (maybe to much private land)
3. Job Peak
4. Mt. Augusta
5. Desatoya Peak
6. Bald Mountain

I’ve hunted Augusta twice and been successful during rifle season. If anything can help you with distance on hikes and camp spots. Shoot me a PM.

Hell everyone gets lucky now and then it’s going to be a tough hunt get up high I have some buddies who do well in the late black powder season. Google earth the water up high. Isn’t the klan alpines in that unit? Pretty sure I’d focus on them.

I didn't yet. I spent a day in the desatoya range and saw a few doe's and no bucks then spent a couple days around the clan alpines and found a few small bucks. I had a forky at 63 yards but decided to hold off. Im gonna head back up in a week or two and give it another go.

I have a friend with the rifle tag he’s been up to Augusta a couple times this year and has only seen 1 fork in two trips

How'd your hunt go? I actually just accidentally purchased this tag through Nevada's new First Come First Serve tag reissue program. I thought I clicked unit 194 but it was 184 lol. They won't give back my 4 points so i'm in it now! Doing some google earth/onx scouting trying to make the best of it. What elevations were you seeing deer at during archery season?

This area is tough. Last year I hit the desatoya range and only saw a few. I know people have seen nice ones in there though. I saw more in the clan alpines which has Mt. Augusta. I'm probably gonna start there.
