My wife was drawn as the alternate for 1 of two Out of State tags and we decided to take it. I understand the best Hunting in this area is on the private land in the NE Section of the unit but we wanted to give it a shot. We are just regular folks that are willing to work for it but not willing to shell out 5k+ to hunt someone's property. Nothing against that as I serv on a NGO board and work with Ranches and Private businesses that do just that.
We finish up hunting in Nevada at the end of September and then plan on making a few trips into Cache to find some spots to hunt in November. Understanding that we will have a challenge ahead I'm looking to see if anyone familiar with the area is willing to pass on any spots to look at more than others. I have a few ideas based on the maps I've looked over and some forum discussions.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share and for those hunting the west this year - Good Luck

Ain’t got a clue where to hunt bulls in November in that unit but the rule is, if you come on here asking for info and help, you have to post your story after the hunt so we can get some closure on these hunts!

It ain’t fair to the rest of us to be left hanging!

Best of luck to You!

Thanks for the comment - No problem sharing how it went good or bad. I figured it could be a long shot to get any info and I understand.

Meadowville is a very fun unit. I had permission on a property from fixing fence for them. I had the archery tag saw about 20 to 30 bulls from 300 to about 360. That property is now part of an outfitter.

Unfortunately, this unit is hard to hunt as a public hunter but IT IS HUNTABLE. get OnX if you don't have it and if you can get there a day or two before the hunt and get to know the roads. Elk move a lot so glass all the area you can.

Thanks for the input, I use OnX and starting to gather as much info as I can right now. I'm looking to try and narrow down a section to focus on within the public land. There will be 3-4 of us glassing and if we can focus on a section that has potential I'm hoping we aren't chasing our tails.
Thanks again - Tom
