Hoffman Boots is excited to be part of this forum and the Monster Muley family. I would like to take a little time to introduce our 4th generation family business to you. Currently Hoffman Boots is well known in the lineman and logging industries but with my brother and I's passion for hunting, we have been pursuing the perfect boot for big game hunters. Like others, we looked long and hard and talked with many outdoor footwear manufactures in Europe, trying to find the perfect boot for our hunting conditions in the Northwest and other regions. After several conversation, we found a third generation family who has been building hunting boots for 55 plus years. Our goal was to develop a boot using their knowledge and experience featuring the support and rigidity needed when facing tough terrain yet flexible enough to be comfortable and keep the heel seated in the boot. A wider toe box was a must, and a great traction sole that not only performs but wears well was sought. We believe we have created this boot and can't wait to share them with others. Now in our 4th season with these boots, we are developing even more models based of our customers needs. We currently feature our 6" Explorer light, pictures above. Great light weight hiker for early season. We do the same style of boot in our 8" Explorer and a 8" Insulated Explorer w/400 gram version. Extremely comfortable boot with great traction, support and feel. If you like a taller boot, we have the 10" Hunter and this fall, we will be introducing our new 10" insulated Hunter with a whopping 800 grams of thinsulate. For those looking for a high end hunting boot, I ask that you check us out. visit us at www.hoffmanboots.com to see what we do and visit out hunting boot section to our our great line of hunting boots.
Thank you
Jim Hoffman

Do you offer a wide boot for female hunters, even a true medium width would be nice.

I bought the 8 inch explorer's this month...So far they are excellent. The durability test is now till December.lots of tags. I own Hoffman pack boots..live in Gunnison Colo by far the best winter pack I have ever owned. I do wish I would have got the same explorer boot but with the black armor coating..i'll review this boot in December.

Do you offer a guide/outfitter discount?

From Kellogg. If the quality and fit are good, I’ll be buying a pair of their hunting boots. Probably Explorers. I used to wear Hoffman packs and they were great boots. I love supporting Idaho businesses, especially North Idaho businesses.

Sounds great - give them a test. I sure enjoy mine.

We partner with a third generation family / factory in Italy. Really a great story with over 55 years of experience building hunting style boots. They are awesome boots and great people to work with.

Thank you for the response.

If I can help it I don't buy China. I wish you much success here.

Reminder for those of you looking to get into a new pair of boots this year......take a look at what Hoffman Boots has to offer and give them a serious consideration.

No body out of all these hunters have a report on them so I will not be shelling out that money with no reviews from this site. Not saying there is anything wrong with them but....

Look beyond "this site". You base all your gear choices off MM? I wear a different boot but wouldn't rule these out. Besides, fit is going to tell you what to buy. mtmuley

No I get it... I just used MM as a reference I don’t know anything about this boot is all I’m saying

I don't know if any of these testimonials are from any MM guys, but Jim sent these over to me when I asked about them.

After trying Kenetrek, Crispi, Meindl, Lowa, Asolo, and Zamberlin, I found a boot that fits. I am very impressed with the quality of this boot and the excellent service that I've received from Hoffman's. I will be buying more boots from these folks!
Terry

These are great boots. Had some ankle issues 3 weeks before a trip to Mt Katahdin and needed tall boots that were supportive so I purchased the Explorers. These boots were just excellent. I have wide feet and sometimes have trouble with wides not being wide enough. These fit perfect in wide, insoles are great and support is exactly what I needed. Hiked with practically no break in and my feet felt great! Won’t be my last pair of these.

Hi Jim , I recently purchased your insulated explorer boots from Kalispell Army Navy and have put about 50 plus miles on them and they have been the most comfortable insulated hunting boot ? I’ve ever owned .. Thanks for your time and quality products.
Jim

I've ran the hell out of Hoffman explorers! I've worn them hunting fishing shed hunting and work 40 hours a week in them. Keep em treated and they don't disappoint! One is freshly treated the other isn't. But that's after a year of hard use! I lost track around 1200 miles on them. In 2019 I've already put on 236 miles on them so at a minimum I've got 1436 miles on them total! Jim Hoffman is a killer dude as well. Im not sponsored or endorsed in anyway! Just an avid sportsman that don't like to waste money on BS! I have nothing but good to say about Hoffman boots!
Thomas Hargett

Loving mine, comfortable and great support. Really got to put them to the test yesterday helping haul some heavy loads out off two bull elk. Wet and miserable day and my feet were 100% dry at the end of the day. Highly recommend these boots folks!

Love your boots, first time buyer and was very satisfied with them. My last pair of boots had over 500 miles on them and they were still way too rigid and were not comfortable...I changed to Hoffman and the difference was amazing. Almost no break in time and I put the boots through the wringer with work and also hunting the high country during elk and deer season. Thanks so much for making a bomber, comfortable boot. These things are seriously amazing. My hunting buddy will be buying a pair soon.

When it comes down to a market that is saturated with options the insulated explorers are top of the line. I made the decision to go with Hoffman's purely on the basis of positive reviews. The support, traction and warmth are excellent. As an avid big game hunter, the product and customer support are superior to any other manufacturer in this market. Take the chance and never look back!
Aaron

I work in the forestry industry in northeast Washington, I have been using the explorers for a couple seasons now with no issues. I have sold a couple of my coworkers on getting a pair and they both love them as well. My search for the “unicorn” of boots is over, thanks Hoffman’s keep it up!
Brian

I just wanted to add my two cents to this. I just got a pair of the 8 inch uninsulated boots on Friday. One thing that stood out, the 8 inch Explorers are just about the same height as the Crispi Idaho‘s (10”) I have. So far just wearing them around the house, in the yard and even to the office today. The comfort was great right from day one, extremely comfortable and much better than Crispi for me. I do like the insole that it comes with also.

I've been wearing Hoffman lineman boots at work for over a decade now. Their lineman boots are very well built and tough as hell. I'm expecting the same quality in these hunting boots

Did you buy a pair of the hunting boots?

We have been wearing the Explorer Boot for about 3 months now. We have already put a lot of miles on them and they have been great.

Geeesh, I was just getting ready to share this review that Jim sent over when I saw your reply. The review he sent over was on the
8" Hoffman Explorer. 2,000 miles it says!!

Chris had to say:

"2000 miles might not be a long way for a car but it is an amazing amount of miles for a pair of boots. I have finally reached the end of life for the soles of this pair of boots and have been nothing but impressed. With two hunting seasons and 3 shed seasons plus all the scouting and winter activities in between, they have been awesome. I am fully confident that if you are looking for an amazing back county boots you have found it here!"

Are you using the 8" or 6"?
