Well, I had a great hunt yesterday morning on public ground. It has been tough going the past few days because the hot temps seemed to keep the deer from moving. Got up to a nice chilly morning, climbed the mountain and got set up overlooking a long finger. Ten minutes into the sit I catch movement down below me. From 130yds I can tell he was a nice one. Hit the grunt call a few times and reeled him in. Shot him quartering to at 40yds. He ran like what seemed like forever but I thought I heard him crash. Absolutely no blood. I walked the direction I heard him go and found him piled up in a drainage. Back tracked the blood trail and he had only bled for 15 yds before expiring. Ran 100 yds without bleeding a drop. Really a blessed morning!
