You can start by going right to Oak City and then up the canyon from there. I ran down last Saturday and saw some good bucks and some great rutting activity.

Good, not great ?

We are waiting for your pics ?
I don't think I have ever posted a pic on this site. Not sure I know how:unsure:. I want to buy a Nikon P1000 so I can get some great photos. I took photography in High School and College also a lot of Video Production in college but at the moment I don't have anything with a good zoom so I've mostly just been watching with binos and a spotter this year.
I've been watching one buck nearly every day that has about a 12" drop tine on his right side. Very cool buck but for sure not the biggest. It has about half a twist in it and when he turns his head it is right next to his shoulder. This time of year we get some nice bucks walking right past the house.

Different subject but speaking about animals walking by the house last month I was in my driveway at 1:00am making a flag pole for my Trump flags. My drillbit started chattering and it called a coyote into my driveway at full speed. He stopped at about thirty yards from me and spun around. The front of my house was well lit, I had two of my boys with me and we were making all kinds of noise.

The day I photographed the buck I posted I also saw a buck that was huge at first light but the pics did not turn out well. He was 190+ with a huge frame, mass, long tines and a couple extras on both sides. Getting closer to great ?

Yesterday we watched two different buck fights within ten minutes of each other. Four different bucks. Man was it awesome. Fur was flying, antlers banging. The second fight I would put the buck at about 200" and lots of mass, the buck he was fighting was probably 180". The smaller buck was the aggressor and was pushing the bigger buck back but then things changed and he got stomped and run off. Going back out in about an hour. I'll take my video camera with me this time.

Went back down yesterday-saw a bunch of deer and bucks but nothing huge. Saw a bunch of sheep-rams were rutting ewes. Fun to watch. I mostly took video on my phone skope-not sure of the best way to post video on this forum but here are some photos

You see any good rams? That units fun for watching deer but is also a circus with as many people that are up there every morning and night now.

Saw 5 younger rams and a bunch of ewes. I have not seen a good ram yet in the 2 times I have been down, but I am guessing there are a few around somewhere.
There were a bunch of guys driving around looking at deer.

They killed off quite a few rams this year, they gave out 14 tags. That unit doesn’t have that big of rams though. The big rams are going to only push mid to high 150’s. Have you seen the buck they were chasing hard up there yet? Rumor is he broke off quite a bit.
