Here is my 2020 Oregon Muzzleloader hunt. With this being my 1st muzzleloader hunt spent alot of time shooting and even more time scouting. Did not turn up much for bucks scouting.. Several days of hunting not seeing much but 3 other good bucks then came across this dandy. More memories made with my dad.

You did well, but in all seriousness Oregon really needs to get rid of all late Muzz, and Archery hunts! Oregon simply doesn't have the bucks to spare once they make it through the gauntlet of unmanaged predators and hunters, ect. I was so happy to see ODFW finally get rid of that late Juniper Muzz tag. Only 13 tags but literally that hunt SUCKED for hunters with 21, 22, 23, plus points it was only 39% success. Give me a break!!! Besides all those deer were from the Steens unit where deer will be extinct in my kids lifetime.

You got a nice one though congrats!

Heck of a buck - congrats! Those are tough to find anymore in Oregon especially on the hunt I think that one came out of.

Want to start out with thank you. Everyone has a opinion on how things should be to make it all better. But as sportsman if everyone took some time in the off elk and deer season to go hunt areas for predators this would be alil better. I have personally see the impact it makes when cougars and coyotes get hunted hard and killed in specific areas more fawns for years to come. You do know that the muzzleloader is the closest thing to turn traditional hunting. With the bows today shooting over 100yds isn't cool and I am a die hard bow hunter or a rifle that can kill at over 1000yds. Animals don't stand a chance against the hunters either. I know every has there opinion and all of us could go on and on about this but we need to try to be doing our part as well in predator control. Happy hunting to all in 2021.

Congratulations, as a Oregon resident and hunter I can appreciate what a accomplishment this is. I am not sure which hunt you had but most of those eastern oregon muzzleloader tags are right after the rifle season and before the rut kicks in. Not a slam dunk by any means. Our mule deer could certainly use some help but I don't think those muzzleloader hunt are the issue.
