I have the points to draw 61, and i need advise on weather the 61-1 or the 61-2 is the best hunt. I don't have access to horses, and would have to use an outfitter for the 61-1, and was thinking the 6 1-2 would have better access and a good chance for a foot hunter to get into migrating bulls. Thankyou.

I spent 33 days in 61. I find horses are a must. You will be crossing the Greybull river several times. Pm me if you are specific on a drainage.

Horses are almost a must. Huge country. Lots of bears but most are good bears. Both hunts are as good as it gets. PM me anytime

Here's a 61-1 bull from a few years ago. If you PM me your number I'm happy to call and share what I learned.

I've hunted 61-1 multiple times. Wouldn't think about it without horses. You would likely be on Carter Mtn (out of wilderness area) with 61-2 and may be possible without horses. Had some guys I know did it a couple of years ago without horses. They were young & in great physical shape. They got into elk but were looking for a monster. Didn't tag out.
