Have you ever cooked a lb of bacon without eating a piece before its served for breakfast? I just did and I feel pretty damn good about it. Just waiting for the wife and kids to wake up now.

Yeah, used to do it when I did an annual javelina hunt for a bunch of guys. I would cook the bacon on the griddle, then put it in the oven to stay warm while I cooked the main course, like pancakes, french toast or eggs. Did the same with the sausage.

Tony you seriously didnt take a nibble while you finished cooking rest the bacon? Much respect!

Ooh, yeah--don't think it's in me not to make sure it's good to go. And, semi-crispy. Crispy, as I see it, seems overcooked and includes a slight burned taste.

It’s around 6 dollars a lb

Who cooks bacon in the microwave? I've done it a few times and it's turned out good. About 2:15 min. on high power.
I forbid my wife to cook almost everything I eat in the nuker, and that includes heating leftovers. Most things turn to rubber, especially meats. That said, she has one of these nifty padded sacs to do baked taters, and it works really well. But I do use the nuker to heat liquids & sauces, melt butter & make popcorn & nachos.

Never! There's always that odd piece in the package that must be sampled before sharing with the family.

So?

You're Serving the Wife & Kids a COLD Breakfast?

Bet She's Impressed!

elkass if you don't know how to keep bacon warm than I don't know what to tell you. Come on Man! You think the bacon you get at the restaurant is made to order?

Wait....I can't believe nobody has asked the obvious....

YOU have a wife? Hmm..

I've always heard some folks are completely different in person than on the internet. Must be true.

I’m just as generous and helping in person as on the internet.

I cook between 4-8# of bacon at a time, on the big electric griddle out on the back porch. Then we bag and freeze it all.

After about 30 minutes, I've got every dog in the neighborhood howling. The wife undresses me in the laundry, and clothes go straight into washer!!! Then shower to get all the grease off.

Do you know what part of the pig bacon comes from ? I watched Meat Eater so I am an expert---not ! I had no idea and I was raised on a farm and my dad processed our own pigs.

It is my understanding that bacon comes from the neck...from the ear to the shoulder. Renelle was hog hunting in Texas and the butcher showed him. But it could come from the tail as far as I know ...HA1
